The Fall of Reichen-BACH

I just had a….thought.

I did a quick search for something similar and came up with nothing, so *deep breath* here goes my first ever meta.

What if Bach is a metaphor?

Mofftiss mention Bach multiple times, despite Sherlock’s musical preference never being mentioned in canon.

Bach is typically associated with “church music”- he was the exemplary pious Christian man.

 So what if Bach = Heteronormativity??

 When Moriarty arrives at Baker Street, Sherlock is playing a Bach Sonata. Moriarty says “Bach would be appalled” (Why would “Bach”, i.e. Heternormativity, i.e. The Church/Society, etc. be appalled? Because Sherlock is gay of course.)

 Bach is the key. Moriarty says so himself on the roof. And the “man with the key is king”.

 So….that means Reichenbach = Rich Brook was just a red herring. What if Mofftiss, in their wicked ways, used a simple play on words here?

 The Fall of Reich/En/Bach

Reich (or rule, kindom, reign) of BACH.

 The FALL of the KINGDOM of BACH.

  And then.

 THEN!

 In TFP, Sherlock begins to play the violin for Eurus. He’s playing Bach again (although a different piece- oh boy. Looks like I already found my next meta). She stops him and says “Not Bach. You clearly don’t understand it.”

Because HE IS IN LOVE WITH A MAN.
