Okay, hear me out. I ship them platonically because they're obviously both homosexuals. But nobody can deny that they're soulmates. Look at them!
They have so much in common. For example, they both turn into the same creature from hell with glowing eyes and diabolical grin when they're on a motorcycle/in a car...
They slay bad guys with the same cool motorcycle stunts...
...and share a habit of parking their bikes on car roofs.
Something else they have in common is their great fondness of Matsuda...
