Day 19 of the Advent Calendar: LEAD (Career & Impact)⠀ ⠀ I'm really not a fan of the term 'work-life balance' - it gives 'work' the same importance as 'life' while, really, work is just one part of life. It's an important part of life - in terms of giving you meaning and earning you the money you need to live and thrive - but, still, it's just one part.⠀ ⠀ When you're running your own business, when you're passionate about your work and you also have the freedom and flexibility to work (and not work) when you want, it's more about work-life integration. That's not to say that you should be working all the time, though!⠀ ⠀ What can you do to get a better balance, or integration, of your professional projects and your personal ones? How can you set some boundaries? Day 2 of the Advent Calendar: LIVE (Wellness & Wellbeing)⠀ ⠀ Yesterday we looked at what we're eating, and today it's the other obvious-but-also-tricky priority: exercise.⠀ ⠀ I've found that the best time for me is first thing in the morning, when I do 15-30 minutes of HIIT (high-intensity interval training). That way, it's out of the way and I can enjoy the rest of the day! Plus, I end up making healthier choices throughout the day given this energetic start. You can find plenty of HIIT videos on YouTube (e.g. from @thebodycoach). These short-but-intense workouts are great when you don't have a lot of time... but, again, don't think it has to be 'all or nothing'. 10 minutes of yoga, a short walk around the block, a few minutes of crunches or pushups - these are all great options and little things do add up!⠀ ⠀ Although it's true that "you can't out-train a bad diet", stepping up your exercise during this month of December can definitely help to compensate for some of the binge eating and drinking and help you to feel better overall.⠀ ⠀ *⠀ *⠀ *⠀ *⠀ *⠀ ⠀ #adventcalendar #reimaginingsuccess #reimaginesuccess #wellness #wellbeing #exercise #hiit #workout #healthychoices #entrepreneur #workfromhome #freelance #femaleentrepreneur #5ls #onestepoutside

Day 1 of the Advent Calendar: LIVE (Wellness & Wellbeing)⠀ ⠀ Your wellness and wellbeing are absolutely fundamental to everything else in your life, so this is a great place to start. But December's a tricky month for 'being healthy', with lots of family gatherings, parties, and temptations along the way.⠀ ⠀ Instead of going to the extremes - either going on a strict 'preventative diet' now to prepare for Christmas indulgences or giving up entirely for the whole month and planning a diet for January - focus on little things you can do already today (and every day). Look at what you can add to your diet - drinking more water, eating multiple portions of vegetables - rather than eliminating food groups.
