A roller-skating disco night might be just what Rick and Reina needed after weeks of nerves. Having her at home, despite any anxiousness, has been better than okay, really, and a part of Rick was terrified of admitting that. He knew she would leave eventually and capture her own freedom once more, as she always does, and he dreads that day in secret. A part of Rick feels that it’s selfish to want her to stay for, well, forever. It just reminds him too much of when they were young and together constantly, an inseparable pair of best friends. And maybe that’s what they still were after all these years and Rick was simply feeling too nostalgic.
He reminds himself of just that tonight, especially since he had a date coming later. Someone Izzy set him up with. So, he reminds himself. You’re too nostalgic, latching onto nothing, focus on the present. And he tries, he really does. Hence his theme accurate outfit and evident excitement. By some miracle, he was having a good time. He catches up with club members, old friends, and Olympus natives alike. Somewhere toward the middle of the night he looks for Reina after losing her in the crowd of skating patrons. He catches a glimpse of her outside of the neon-lit circle and Rick skates over to her, stopping himself before he completely hits the wall. He reaches out to open the small door to the outside area and plops down beside where she sits. “You’re supposed to be skating,” Rick teases with arched brows, leaning back for a moment. “I thought you’d be havin’ the time of your life, ‘cause this is so your scene.” He jokes, knowing Reina would rather be caught dead than attending an event like this. Laughter sounds from him before he stands back up, balancing on his skates, “Come on, let’s go. You’re skating and dancing with me, even if I have to drag you out there.”
