I imagine that Tashigi and Reiju met on some mission where the marines needed to speak with Germa. Tashigi tagged along with Smoker and happened to run into Reiju while there.

I don't ever think Tashigi would be one to get with Reiju for power, money, or her beauty. Instead, Reiju spoke to Tashigi in a way she’s not used to, one that treated her as a person- one not influenced by her captain title. Especially surprising since Reiju is in a place of power herself. Tashigi, being who she is, treated Reiju in the same respect and Reiju- not used to that at all- fell head over heels for Tashigi.

I think they love just talking to each other about the stuff they cant tell anybody else, but they absolutely cannot have their relationship leak, for Reiju’s sake mostly (but Tashigi would not be able to handle that information getting out either, lets be real).

I drew this with the context that Tashigi had the very rare chance of seeing her girlfriend and absolutely needed to talk to her about everything that had happened in her missions. While sneaking Reiju onto the ship, Smoker returned early and caught them. Oops!
