I always hoped her parents knew she was ladybug because thats another comparison between mari's and adrien's parents. They love their daughter so much and they're so involved in her life that they'll recognise her anywhere.
I doubt they know, because if they did they wouldn’t have grounded her (Simon Says) for not being in the classes she’s supposed to be, because akuma is definitely priority on “where you’re supposed to be”.
But I hope they find out!
Contrast with Gabriel, who suspected Adrien of being Chat Noir, let him take the biggest leap of faith and then concluded: My son can’t be that crazy.
The Dupain-Chengs would have no idea Marinette could be a superheroine, papa Tom goes to save his little girl and finds: OMG, my baby is Ladybug!
They’d be scared, try to encourage her to confide in them, then go: Okay, I’m just going to say it! We know you’re Ladybug! We’re terrified. But we meant it when we said we trust Ladybug, and we trust Marinette. They’d be supportive and understanding and they’d talk out their insecurities.
And Gabriel can eat Chat Noir’s boots.
