Motochi Han was born Chinese-Japanese mixed, being raised in Hong Kong until his parents divorced and his Japanese mother took him to live in Kyoto at the age of 5. He grew up loving music and was a confident child, auditioning for school talent shows and plays frequently.
At the age of 13, Motochi auditioned for PPA (Petal Productions Agency), training there for 2 years before being selected to join the group DXKT. The groups concept was already planned but no members had been selected yet as the agency felt none of the trainees fit, until Motochi developed and trained his style. He is known for his ability to lead and care for all the members and for his great bond and teamwork with Reji especially.

Reji Romanov was born in St Petersburg, living there with his Russian father and Japanese mother until they decided to move to Tokyo due to living concerns in Russia when Reji had just turned 10. He learnt to speak fluent Russian and Japanese at a young age, and took a great interest in both Eastern European and Scandinavian rock/metal bands as well Japanese city pop. His parents sent him to take singing lessons and he began uploading videos of lyrics and songs onto youtube from age 11.
His channel was discovered by PPA and he was asked to audition. Reji was hesitant at first, being quite shy outside of his music, but was convinced by his parents. He started training and was selected to join DXKT not long after Motochi was selected in the lineup. He and Motochi got on instantly and today have their own subgroup called REMODY (not active in all AUS). Reji is known for his powerful vocals, causing some controversy when netizens noticed he had a lot of the main lines yet wasn’t promoted as much as the other members, especially in the debut era.

Shinyo Tozataki was born in Shinjuku to a single father and his 2 older brothers. Shin alleged that he was physically abused by his father and brothers, but hasn’t taken any legal action or charges. He grew up listening to a mix of J-pop, Korean hip hop and rap, as well as western rap and dance music, giving him a unique style and signature sound. He tried to join a dance club in his school when he was 12 but was denied due to not being a good student. Past teachers of Shins say that he was an uninterested student who regularly skipped classes and was in drama with other students. Shin uploaded a couple of rap freestyles onto Soundcloud aged 11-13, stylising his name as SHINYO until he decided to change his stage name to Shin, partly due to being advised by PPA.
He auditioned for PPA in secret at 13 with a video of himself dancing and rapping, his father disapproving but allowing him to go after being convinced by both Shin and PPA. Shin was trained to apply his dancing and rap skills, as well as going through gruelling lessons of singing despite being adamant he never wanted to be a singer. He also met Reji who was a big brother figure to him in the new busy environment that Shin wasn’t used to compared to his poor lifestyle at home. Shin was selected to join DXKT after neither Motochi or Reji showed any remarkable rapping skills, and PPA saw Reji and Shins bond.

Sam Sato was born in Bath, England to his Mother and Father. His parents divorced when he was young and now have other partners. He usually went by his Japanese name, Akira, although it is legally still Samuel. Akira was always obsessed with music and art as a child, and wanted to be a musical comedian. His major inspiration was Bo Burnham, who he has done covers of later in his career. When he was 10 he won a School open-mic contest, singing a couple songs and performing a comedy routine with his friends. At age 12 Akira started taking professional singing lessons, choosing to pursue music after a traumatic event which made him insecure about his comedic ability. He also decided to learn Japanese.
At age 13 Akira went to Japan for family business and to pursue Japanese music. His family found PPA and enrolled him into their idol trainee program. He was accepted but allegedly mistreated and often left in the dust compared to other idols and his members. He was known for being funny but people tend to agree he’s the least musically gifted of the members. Akira has since opened up about this and how he often felt like the comic relief rather than a functioning member. Lather in life, he revisited comedy and has had a lot of success in that industry. He has been a guest on variety shows and done solo projects like Youtube and standup, however refuses to do solo musical performances. Akira is often compared to Shins rapping ability and both members have agreed that they’re “good in their own way.”

Toshihiro Watanabe was born in Tokyo, Japan to his Mother and Father. He was the rainbow baby after 2 miscarriages and fertility issues in the family. Toshi grew up in a privileged home, with his parents taking him to expensive acting and singing lessons from a young age. Starring in many school theatre productions, he found his love for Kabuki dancing t a young age and joined a junior Kabuki theatre and dancing group when he was 6. He continued his Kabuki training up until his debut and still does Kabuki performances occasionally. He acted both as extras and the stars in countless East-asian commercials from infancy to the age of 13 when his parents convinced PPA to make him a trainee.
At age 13 he became a trainee at PPA and was highly regarded and successful for his classical training. Some other trainees, including Shin according to rumours, were jealous of the alleged favouritism from the agency towards Toshi. Toshi had a debut solo EP and mini tour which was something none of the other members got. He has grown popular for his love of frogs and cute moments on social media. There are rumours and suspicions of Toshi being gay or asexual, with him stating “I don’t really ever think about girls, I didn’t know that wasn’t normal” while laughing in an interview once. He however, hasn’t stated anything offical. He continues to be one of the most popular members of DXKT, and has since experimented with more mature concepts and looks apart from the stereotypical aegyo boy look.
