arguing on the side of Rekercy...
Reki and Percy could bond over their love for skating. It's shown canonically in Sea of Monsters that Percy likes to skateboard, as his mom mentions wanting to take him to the skate shop in Times Square (I think.) Also, Reki is literally the skating fanboy. He’s made half his personality skating, and they would learn a lot from each other.
They have aesthetics that attract each other. Reki’s known to have a street/skating style, and Percy’s known for also having a street style outside of his camp shirt.
Again, they’d bond over a lot of things. Mainly, their personalities. Reki’s known for having a bright, bubbly personality, also able to be eclipsed by some toxic insecurity. Percy, as I said before, has a disciplined yet carefree personality. But he’d understand what Reki had gone through. They’d be terrible influences to each other in a positive way, and would bring out the best and the worst in each other. They’d learn to be confident in each other and trust each other with a lot of things. This would be a leeway into how they’d eventually fall in love.
Some HCs
Percy's gonna have to explain a lot of BS to Reki about camp, eventually Reki finds out and they realize he's a mortal who can see past the mist. Interpret that however you will.
Reki mentions he wants to go to Los Angeles (he actually does want to, in fact) to which Percy is like "Actually LA sucks. I got jumped there. And had to fight a bunch of shit."
They originally see each other and they're like "Oh no. HE'S HOT"
When they first started dating, it kind of felt of unnatural to them because they didn't know how to act around each other because they always felt that dating someone was special and stuff. Eventually they realized that they didn't have to change how they act, but just act normal around each other.
They met after bumping into each other on the street and started arguing, because Reki had bumped into Percy while trying to get on his board, and eventually they quit arguing and were like, "Sorry, it's my fault, I'll buy you lunch to make up for it, my name’s…"
Reki meets Leo and he's like, "You're just like me for real."
I can see it, I can see it!
Rekercy... love wins ahfhehfe
Reki would handshake with Leo. Does this count as Leo propaganda
okay yes it's me hiya here's a chapter
Percy didn’t mean to bump into him.
He was trying to cram for the test on biostatistics, frantically trying to review his notes, holding a coffee in one hand and flipping through his notes in another. “Sample size…analysis plan summary…gods, I should have studied more.” The letters blurred together as he walked toward the building, and he squinted as he tried to make sense of them. His head hurt from the fall heat and the lettering.
Then he bumped into the redhead. It happened so suddenly, he wasn’t aware that it had happened. Not until he saw his notes splashed with coffee, and this guy rubbing his head with his skateboard rolling away, and his backpack spilled open. Percy grabbed his notebook in an instant and tried to wipe off most of the coffee. The page he had been studying was completely drenched in latte, and the redhead winced as he tried to get up. The ink had smeared away a little.
Percy turned on him. “Watch where you’re going, for the gods’ sake! You could have hurt someone!” The redhead looked up and gave him a glare that said, Are you trying to start a fight here? Then the skater spoke. “Well, maybe you wouldn’t have knocked into me if you were watching where you’re going. Look right in front of you, I would have guaranteed you’d have seen some guy, on a goddamned skateboard, right in front of you, and you would have been just fine.” He stood up and brushed himself off. Percy couldn't help but notice he had a slight accent, and the weird hoodie and whatnot, but more importantly, he was focused on making this guy lose the argument. “Ah, crap, not the sketchbooks…” the guy muttered as he ran around trying to pick up everything that had spilled from his bag. Wanting to win an argument was a little unlike Percy, who seemed to not care about any discourse that came his way, but he was too worried and upset to think clearly. “Hey! I’m talking to you. You ruined my notes…”
He trailed off as he watched the redhead frantically gather his pens and pencils as they rolled away over the concrete. Percy decided that well, even if he had bumped into him and ruined his notes, he should at least try to make amends. He helped gather the sketchbooks and handed it to him. “Your sketchbooks…I’m Percy.” He opted for a grin as he handed the redhead the sketchbooks. “And you’re…?”
The guy took the sketchbooks and gave him a wary glare. Percy couldn’t blame him; his mood had changed so fast it could have made your head spin. Finally, the skater sighed and said, “Reki. Reki Kyan. Listen, I’m sorry about your notes, and it’s my fault I bumped into you.”
Percy waved it off. “It’s kinda my fault too, I wasn’t looking.” He smiled sheepishly. Reki smiled a bit. “What if…I bought you lunch?” Then he realized how it sounded. He flustered. “Not like that! Just…as a way to make it up to you.” He shifted the collar of his hoodie, and Percy noticed that there was a bisexual pin on there. Interesting. Then he realized he was expected to respond. “Oh, yeah, that’s nice of you. Thanks.” He stood up as Reki did too. “Nice to meet you, Reki.” He held out his hand. Reki shook it. “You too…Percy.” He grabbed his board, and walked off. Percy couldn’t help but smile, feeling like he’d found another person he could become friends with. He grabbed the notebook and ran as fast as he could toward the building as the bell rang. The book was still dripping in latte, and smeared.

OH HELLO
it's time...MAKE A REKERCY SWEEP
you've heard of percabeth and the reki ship i forgot the name of, now get ready for... rekercy!! make them tie. and kiss
okay. rekercy spinning in my brain again. thinking.
reki having to make a portrait for a study in art in college. he asks percy to be a reference for him while he draws. percy agrees. it's what friends do, right? (context: they're roommates in college.)
reki starts sketching, and it's pretty chill for a while. they're talking with each other, just being silly. percy moves a bit while talking, and reki needs to fix the view. he take percy's chin in his hand. percy freezes up and kinda internally freaks out.
reki doesn't notice and runs his thumb over percy's lips by accident, trying to tilt percy's head to catch another side of his face.
percy's in full gay panic mode. reki doesn't seem to notice.
percy's slowly inching over to reki. reki doesn't notice and only barely seems to notice percy leaning towards him ever so slightly.
when reki looks up, their lips meet.
