okay yes it's me hiya here's a chapter
Percy didnât mean to bump into him.
He was trying to cram for the test on biostatistics, frantically trying to review his notes, holding a coffee in one hand and flipping through his notes in another. âSample sizeâŠanalysis plan summaryâŠgods, I should have studied more.â The letters blurred together as he walked toward the building, and he squinted as he tried to make sense of them. His head hurt from the fall heat and the lettering.
Then he bumped into the redhead. It happened so suddenly, he wasnât aware that it had happened. Not until he saw his notes splashed with coffee, and this guy rubbing his head with his skateboard rolling away, and his backpack spilled open. Percy grabbed his notebook in an instant and tried to wipe off most of the coffee. The page he had been studying was completely drenched in latte, and the redhead winced as he tried to get up. The ink had smeared away a little.
Percy turned on him. âWatch where youâre going, for the godsâ sake! You could have hurt someone!â The redhead looked up and gave him a glare that said, Are you trying to start a fight here? Then the skater spoke. âWell, maybe you wouldnât have knocked into me if you were watching where youâre going. Look right in front of you, I would have guaranteed youâd have seen some guy, on a goddamned skateboard, right in front of you, and you would have been just fine.â He stood up and brushed himself off. Percy couldn't help but notice he had a slight accent, and the weird hoodie and whatnot, but more importantly, he was focused on making this guy lose the argument. âAh, crap, not the sketchbooksâŠâ the guy muttered as he ran around trying to pick up everything that had spilled from his bag. Wanting to win an argument was a little unlike Percy, who seemed to not care about any discourse that came his way, but he was too worried and upset to think clearly. âHey! Iâm talking to you. You ruined my notesâŠâÂ
He trailed off as he watched the redhead frantically gather his pens and pencils as they rolled away over the concrete. Percy decided that well, even if he had bumped into him and ruined his notes, he should at least try to make amends. He helped gather the sketchbooks and handed it to him. âYour sketchbooksâŠIâm Percy.â He opted for a grin as he handed the redhead the sketchbooks. âAnd youâreâŠ?â
The guy took the sketchbooks and gave him a wary glare. Percy couldnât blame him; his mood had changed so fast it could have made your head spin. Finally, the skater sighed and said, âReki. Reki Kyan. Listen, Iâm sorry about your notes, and itâs my fault I bumped into you.â
Percy waved it off. âItâs kinda my fault too, I wasnât looking.â He smiled sheepishly. Reki smiled a bit. âWhat ifâŠI bought you lunch?â Then he realized how it sounded. He flustered. âNot like that! JustâŠas a way to make it up to you.â He shifted the collar of his hoodie, and Percy noticed that there was a bisexual pin on there. Interesting. Then he realized he was expected to respond. âOh, yeah, thatâs nice of you. Thanks.â He stood up as Reki did too. âNice to meet you, Reki.â He held out his hand. Reki shook it. âYou tooâŠPercy.â He grabbed his board, and walked off. Percy couldnât help but smile, feeling like heâd found another person he could become friends with. He grabbed the notebook and ran as fast as he could toward the building as the bell rang. The book was still dripping in latte, and smeared.
