Why do so many people seem to think that a housewife = mindless slave or a live-in unpaid servant that you can fuck? I see people on both sides do this ( ranging from radfems to incels)
Tbh I don’t completely understand the mentality behind it, I think that’s incels and radfems think it for different reasons.
I think incels are just angry at women because they are, frankly, super pathetic and have nothing going for them. They want women to lower their standards and get with them, and because most women won’t do that, they hate women. And come up with all these offensive female stereotypes in their heads. And primarily fantasize about a housewife who will give into their every need and desire, because wouldn’t that be convenient?
Incels don’t understand that when you marry a woman she doesn’t magically stop having standards and self-respect. Or at least that’s my take on incels, I honestly have no idea what the fuck is going on in their heads.
Radfems on the other hand, I understand. Or at least, I understand the ones who are like my sister. I’ll use her idiology as an example: she plainly believes that women who are willing to get married have no self respect or standards. She believes, very much, that if you are not aggressively controlling towards a man, then you are submissive and weak and “a supporter of the patriarchy”.
My sister is a very extreme example (or at least, I hope radfems don’t share all her beliefs on men/women). She believes that housewife’s have very literally sacrificed all of their freedom and autonomy to please a man. That if a woman is not the breadwinner, or financially independent, then she has absolutely no freedom from the wims and demands of her man. A lot of it has to do with money and independence for her- she believes women should always be 100% independent from the men in their lives, otherwise she is giving into the patriarchy. She does not belive relationships between men and women can or should be partnerships.
So the idea of a housewife, a woman who is financially dependent on a provider, horrifs her. She can not see these women as anything less than a brainless, submissive sex tool for men.
I do think many radfems do share this belief. What they don’t understand is that there very much is a balance of power, which I have addressed in my past posts on the subject.
Like I said though, my sister is an extreme example of a radical feminist. She is extremely abusive to the men in her life, and tbh she uses radfem ideology to excuse her actions. She is very judgmental of women who she believes “submit to the patriarchy”, and to her, housewife’s/traditional women are the worst of the worst.
Regaurdless of reasoning, incels and radfems seem to hold the belief that housewives have no standards or self-respect, and are submissive and helpless. That’s very wrong, untrue and offensive; but they don’t actually give a fuck about this group of women so idk what else to expect 🤷♀️
Feminists who hate housewives honestly bug me more than incels. Incels are the EXPECTED enemy, and frankly no one gives a fuck about them. Feminists who hate housewives are traitors, they don’t actually give a fuck about women. They aren’t really feminists.
