My fave part of the ibis paint remove background feature is that it fucking sucks
I grok the basic truth that the world is often neither fair, nor kind. I think squaring with this is good.
But when people use that basic truth - or the pretense of "educating" other folks who've been kicked hard by that world - as a justification for being shitstains, or for excusing themselves from the moral responsibility to behave well, I get real disgusted, real fast.
Cruelty hiding behind “harsh truths” is especially hideous.
My rabbi's drash last week was on praying with a broken heart.
It is terrible to have to ask for anything ever. We wish we were something that needed nothing, like paint. But even paint needs repainting.

Today’s random fact about myself that nobody asked for:
I can't stand being comforted. I'm used to dealing with things alone and trying to manage problems and people and the same time just makes me frustrated and I swear a lot.
