Legends Clash
“No!”
The cry was loud and sharp, enough to gain the attention of the other digi-destined that were around, but Hidemi wasn’t paying any attention to them.
“But Hidemi! I can help Omnimon! Let me fight to my full strength.” Dorumon argued, stance defiant in front of his human partner. Hidemi shook her head.
“No! I can’t risk it! What if something happens and you can’t control yourself? What if you get hurt?!”
Terror and fear gripped and clawed at her insides like ice. She was trembling at the very thought. Her partner walked forward to hug his partner as she collapsed to the ground.
“Hidemi, you have to accept that I have to use my power to help our new friends. Isn’t that what you always told me?”
Hidemi held her digimon tightly as her mind raced. Jesmon had suddenly appeared and it hadn’t stopped to think before it started causing havoc. Luckily the rest of the digi-destined, specifically Taichi and Yamato were around and soon Omnimon had met Jesmon up in the sky to challenge it. For the past few minutes Dorumon had been begging his partner to let him fight. But Hidemi was afraid she would loose him. Or worse that seeing Alphamon would make the other digi-destined resent her more and that would only result in her and dorumon being left all alone. Her heart broke at Dorumon’s words and she only held her partner tighter.
“I accept it Dorumon.” She whispered.
“Hidemi?” The digimon uttered.
“I accept that you’re Dorumon. But I also accept that you’re Alphamon. That you’re powerful then any normal digimon. That we will be shunned and feared wherever we go.”
“Hidemi, I don’t want you to be shunned because of me.”
“You’re my partner Dorumon. If people turn away from you then they turn away from me.” She whispered, holding her partner all the more closer. “And I’ve accepted that.”
Gratitude and love flowed from the link the digimon and human shared. Growing every stronger with each passing second. Drowning out the sound of Jesmon and Omnimon as they battled it out. Neither of them noticed the glow that suddenly surrounded them. Hidemi did notice Dorumon suddenly disappearing from her arms. Something made her gaze turn up and her eyes widened at the sight that greeted her.
Alphamon!
Both partners stared at each other for a few seconds before a look of absolute determination passed over Hidemi’s features and she pointed at Jesmon.
“Kick his ass.”
That was all the encouragement Alphamon needed. The next few minutes were a blur. All Hidemi could make out was staring up at the three digimons as two clashed against one. Between two Mega Level Digimons, Jesmon didn’t seem to stand a chance. And pretty soon it had retreated, accepting defeat.
As soon as it did, Hidemi crouched down, head between her knees as she regulated her breathing, before falling back on the ground on her back. Her heart had been in her throat the entire time, her teeth had drawn blood from her bottom lip and her nails and made indents in her palms. Despite all that when Dorumon came in her view, Hidemi tackled the digimon in a fierce hug, who returned the gesture with just as much enthusiasm.
"I hope you don’t have any objections to Alphamon helping out if Jesmon appears again?” The girl directed the question towards the rest of the digi-destined, wiping the small trickle of blood from her lip as she placed Dorumon on her shoulder, not bothered by the weight. “Because Dorumon and I don’t plan on sitting back.”

I Didn’t Pick This Fight—But I Finished It Some battles find you. This one started with a dog, a lie, and a broken gnome. It ended with a raid.
Ran outdoors between tutoring sessions because I have to embrace the hustle. Like #assata says “I’d rather not have to struggle, but to avoid it cowardice.” #wordsfromAssata #reluctantwarrior #ADF #Htown #running #fitnessandshit (at Downtown Houston)
