Tri98 Rem stakes so much of her beliefs in the creation of Eden where people can live in peace--a happy ending for humanity. She prioritizes the conclusion to humanity's strife but finds herself hesitating in active conflict as she searches for a way to make everyone happy. But the anime ends with ambiguity. Vash saves Knives but there's no guarantee he'll change after being shot. Rather, the focus is less on Knives changing his ways and instead giving him the opportunity to go on that journey for himself. The ending is so compelling because the audience gets to witness the sublimation of Rem's ideology into Vash's own unique ideology in real time.

Hellooo, I really love your Tesla art and the vibes she gives, have you thought about her relationships with other characters before?

omg hello! The short answer is: yes!

The long answer is: when it comes to the mundane AU specifically, I've thought SO MUCH about what Tesla would be like, and how she'd interact and meld into the world!

Her relationship with Rem is one of my favorites; they'd be very close, but in a more casual, less "parental" way. Tesla views Rem as her mom, calls her mom, but because Tesla was older when she was adopted, and Rem was learning how to parent, they behave a little more like peers/equals when Tesla hits her twenties and beyond. (Tesla gets away with alot of lip because of this, the boys would never)

Another favorite of mine would actually be Tesla and Wolfwood! I feel like they'd bond a lot, given they're both children of the system, and know the weight of being an older sibling/the responsibility that comes with that, self-imposed or not. Wolfwood would be the first of any of Vash's partners that Tesla ever actually showed a genuine interest in and formed a connection, I can see them sneaking away to smoke and talk about the hard realities of the world.

I have a lot of feelings about the Mundane AU in general I don't talk about, but Tesla is honestly a personal favorite to flesh out and explore what she'd be like

I think she'd be very rich in life and experiences, and like any person, have a lot of connections that mean different things to her (siblings, coworkers, friends) because I just want her to be happy ;w;

So yes, I've thought a lot about what characters she'd resonate with and her place in their lives, their place in hers, etc. :D (and yes I used this as an excuse to just draw her a ton LMAO, thank you for the question!)

I was listening to futile devices again and thought about how the story of Vash and Nai starts in a place that ressemble the garden of eden and I thought of Nai learning about the History of mankind under the tree of knowledge (good and evil) when he said “they never learn”, referring to humanity. I believe in that moment a resolution was planted in his heart.

I thought of how Rem’s treason resembles the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden and how for that reason no one could access it anymore. I thought of the fall of the two brothers on earth like the befall of god’s most precious angel, Rem’s most precious sons.

I thought of how a brother’s love and sacrifice could ultimately save the rest of the world.
