I remapped (in 3 hours) the Ze'mer's arena from the Pale Court mod. I'll do the others in the future as well.

remap
no distinction between habit and ritual lie down with what made us & everything feared in the image of those who left before we had a chance to claim them as found. bathed thyself in the cyclical torrent, for the blood on our back/hand/cheek takes more than we possess to wash away.
Hey all! This is the final piece of my ReMapping project!
It’s the finished illustrated zine, which I’ve decided to keep in a digital format
Color Movements
Here are the finished force movements animations for the gifs in my (re)mapping project. I wanted to share these animations isolated from the rest of each gif so that they can be viewed more clearly. It took lots of time to figure out the best way to time and draw these movements, though overall I found the process of drawing these frames rather relaxing.
Here are photos to show progression in the assembly of the piece over this past week. I used lots of red thread to connect all of the individual parts. There is no pattern or specific direction of the thread because I wanted the flow to be as natural and reflexive as emotion itself.
Next I will be posting images of the final piece.
And here is the last half of my (re)Mapping project. The front and back covers are collages of pictures from the semester under a layer of pink marker on vellum paper. This project has been so fun and super rewarding. I’ll be glad to have this recount of the end of my freshman year of school!
A Short Artist Reflection
The work that I’ve made this semester I’m very proud of! Out of the three, I’m probably the proudest of my Body Extension, then the Sequence project (also because I loved working with my group), and then the remapping project. Aside from ranking them, I enjoy them all quite a lot. However, to make this a better reflection I will reflect on them separately.
Sequence:
For the sequence project, I really loved learning more about video editing. I also genuinely loved doing the filming of the video!
It was a great project from start to finish! Figuring out the idea, storyboarding, finding audio, props, and costumes! Also, our group dynamic was very exciting and fun, which helped the process immensely.
Body Extension:
So this project took me ages to get done, mostly because it was difficult to continue working with the same motivation transitioning to quarantine while dealing with other classes. However, I’m glad I took my time because the final result I’m very proud of. I think this is a great project to have because it is so unique, yet it has such a personal and real connection to me.
Remapping
This project I enjoyed creating because I was able to learn more about photoshop/digital drawing! I like this project because when I look at it, I really see my semester perfectly. I also enjoyed toying with the symbolism in the environment to properly reflect my emotions.
Overall, I have cherished my time working in Methods of Inquiry and I’m enthusiastic about the work that I’ve been able to create in the class!
So I may have underestimated the making of a quilt for the first time and suffered for it, but had fun making this. Although I'm not entirely finished with it but will continue working on it to be a quilt I’ll use. It kept me busy and was a quarantine project I got to tackle. This differently plays on the homely aspect of this quarantine and something I would do when I’m home since in this past semester and how our world has changed so much in just a short amount of time and cut abruptly short. I’m really satisfied with how this piece turned out despite my limited skills and a project I never done before. As this qulit not only reflects on the current time that we are facing, and to me, it really shows the thinking process behind this Method class. Becoming a quilt to definitely remember for the rest of my life.
I took a gamble and tried something new and I will continue doing so throughout my journey in Stamp and outside. Methods put emphasis on why I am creating something and focus on the process than the actual product. I felt this remapping project was the one that allowed me to really engage in the process shown in my google drive. I honestly struggled after classes went online and it was hard to find motivation. I am proud of myself to be able to pull through the most interesting first year college experience and this class was definitely a challenge to navigate that side of creation in methods through this.
In my first year of stamps, there is still a big transition to studying Art and Design at a University level. Compared to a self taught/highschool education that focuses only on the aesthetic of the final product. With this quilt it was a lot of work and trouble shooting more than I’ll admit, but I am happy with how it turned out.
