Heading into the contest the @sjriptide Riptide had a record of 7-3 and were coming off of a pair of back to back wins, including a a huge OT affair against the division leading @hfxhurricanes. @cbhighlanders had a record of 4-8 and were starting to show signs of turning the corner after a slow start.
