Hiiiii I am still hyper fixated on Adamandi and I HAVE to ask to make sure (because I might've forgotten, unfortunate ADHD brain) — how is Adamandi pronounced?
I say "Adam-and-ee" but I also have only been making it up as I go and really just wanna know how to pronounce what I'm hyper fixated on.
Aaaaaand if you're still answering silly facts and don't mindddd, what're the favorite ice cream flavors of the Adamandi characters?
Thank you!! Have a really good day :))))
Thanks for asking (glad you liked the show!)
Adamandi is pronounced more-or-less with the Classical Latin (as opposed to Ecclesiatical Latin) pronunciation. This would make it ah-duh-MAN-dee (or, for a more detailed pronunciation guide -- at least in an American accent: "ah" (like the "o" in "opera") - "duh" (like the "du" in "duck") - MAHN (like the "mon" in "monster") - dee (like the "dy" in "scaredy").)
Quincy also pronounces it correctly in the end of I Hate And I Love ("Ego Adamandi, falling in love, apart.") if you want to hear it said out loud!
~Mel
P.S. Quincy would like cherry-vanilla, Beatrix would like strawberry, Vincent would like matcha, Ambrose only likes vanilla he's weak, Portia likes something insane like black sesame.
Let me cook
Remus and Virgil who don't know each other, but Virgil is friends with Roman. Don't ask how (Virgil did tech for a theater show Roman was in) (it was actually that simple but they tell everyone they're mortal enemies). It's one wine night with Virgil, Janus, and Roman (ooo Janus is here) and they're talking about the costumes and Virgil's like "pfft yeah you guys get nice costumes we just get black sweaters and jeans" and they're like (platonically) "no but you have ass. You do. You just don't look at it." Cue the conversation of "no I don't" "yes you do? Boy do you know acknowledge yourself?" "..no?" bam Virgil's insecure. Well! Turns out, Roman and Janus both love themselves and they come up with an idea. "Okay well. Hear me out. Roman picks you up one day, the three of us meet somewhere and do an activity." Virgil is suspicious because what the fuck. They give him every detail except for what they're actually doing. He wears shorts (and his hoodie duh he's anxious) and sneakers and small jewelry. Tadaaaaaa they're going pole dancing. Technically they're taking a class. Roman's twin brother ("you have a twin brother?" "Oh yeah he does" "Janus please no") teaches it and Virgil's already there and he's panicking as fuck but like they paid and he's more concerned about the money so fuck it we ball. And the instructor is CUTE. like DAMN. it goes.. fine. Virgil is anxious but he can admit y'know he feels a little sexy a little hot a little willing to look in the mirror when he gets home. And then he gets a text. "Hey my brother gave me your number you're really cute it's Remus :)"
OR
Remus and Virgil are already together. Virgil's been feeling a little unsexy recently (I am not going to deny or put down the absolute sexy feeling that can come from dancing I refuse to) so Roman and Janus drag him to a lesson WITHOUT TELLING REMUS. Remus comes home that night, Virgil's ravenous, feeling himself, wants to be feeling Remus, the whole nine yards. Great nights are had. Overall, life is good.
I apologize to any dyslexic folks I didn't feel like breaking it up into anything other than text blocks I was excited. Teehee.

D E V O U R I N G both of these concepts they're S O fucking D E L I C I O U S P L E A S E!!!! I L O V E L O V E L O V E Jan and Ro being the ones to get Vee into pole dancing like "We're gonna make you feel sexy and you're absolutely gonna get Ree wrapped around your finger one way or another because of it"
I genuinely love Patton as Virgil's dad. He doesn't understand his son being so dark and being into emo stuff, but he tries. He tries to surprise him with things and when he doesn't get it totally right, he asks Virgil for what he wants directly and lets Virgil teach him about it. I like to think that's the happiest he's seen Virgil in a while. And when Virgil starts expressing that he wants to go to concerts, Patton is happy to tag along even though it isn't his crowd. He brings waters and hugs for his son and anyone else that wants a Dad hug. And all this support means Virgil's a little more likely to come watch 80s movies with Patton or bring the boy he likes (:{D) over for board game night

Ugh I'm so so down bad for exes Janus and Virgil. Janus and Virgil and Remus too. Hell, exes can even be a stretch, but the idea they were close at some point and then Virgil impulsively threw himself into the Light Sides' world to just be seen for once and Janus and Remus took it as a betrayal.
This works in so many cases too!
If they were dating, safe to say they're not anymore and they just really really miss each other. Janus and Remus have abandonment issues now and go from clingy to each other to worrying the other will leave. They so desperately want their spider back but what if it happens again?
If they were just best friends, sometimes that hurts more! They were there for each other in their formative years and they know everything about each other! Cue Janus' snarky comments about true friends and wondering if the Light Sides are better friends or not.
Hell, I saw a fic once (desperately need to find it again, it made me so :< for them) that was SFW age regression related, and Virgil took care of the other two whenever they couldn't. And then suddenly he left and now there's just two (mentally) kids on their own. (Also in the fic he kinda came back and there were cuddles and pancakes and LOOK I'm WEAK it was so well written and I scour the internet for it.)
But like any sort of betrayal and making up. Especially the making up. GOD the making up. The snarky fights that lead into shouted confessions and then tears (possibly a panic attack from Virgil) and brutal honesty that has Janus cringing and kindness that has Remus wanting to gag.
And when Patton, Logan, and Roman go to find them, to "rescue"/check on Virgil, they find the three in bed. It's so domestic. Everyone has their own blanket but the blankets match, and they're in pajamas. They're just sprawled on each other but one thing is clear and that it's Virgil's crushed in the middle. He's awake, just barely. He makes eye contact with the three through the door. With the arm wrapped around Janus, he gives them a thumbs up.
He's right where he wants to be.

God T H I S T H I S T H I S A L L of T H I S!!!!!! Anxceitmus can be S O fucking messy and a wreck without the other but they were best friends first and will A L W A Y S care for each other whether they wanna admit it or not and that's what makes the making up so emotional cause all the pain and regret was bottled up and all they want is their Spider and what they had back <3
Okay so did I steal this from a very deeply self insert fanfic I made about a character I love yes so what what about it
Anyway
Virgil's at the arcade. Irl au. Modern. Life is good, goth family, emo shit going on. His family goes to the arcade. He's like.. seventeen idk I keep picturing that anxious, hormonal "I think that boy is cute so I'm just gonna do gay eyes" type. He's at the arcade, hanging out with his family, got his own music in because the arcade music is unbearable and unbearably loud. Virgils the iPod or CD player in his pocket type, corded headphones. Tell me I'm wrong.
He's been kinda eyeing this guy he's seen walk around. He's hot as hell, definitely understands the whole alt thing, and keeps hanging around a dude who looks similar (but is just enough not similar that Virgil doesn't confuse them) and another guy with glasses who seems to be so good at the games that it's pissing off the Lookalike. Not the Cute Guy though. He's laughing. And Virgils looking.
Mom notices, ooo teasing is that a cute boy oooo, Virgils all flustered. Looks back at the boy, and boy is looking at him!!! Woah!!! Virgil goes back to his arcade game all nervously.
Then! After his round ends, there's a weight on the game and cute boy came over and leaned on his arcade machine to talk to him. Arms crossed, smirk, the whole nine yards. Virgil is fucking swooning.
I know damn well it's some flirtatious conversation before he's asked "you any good at numbers?" and suddenly Virgil forgets numbers have ever existed ever and he shakes his head all stupid. And then!! Cute boy pulls out a sharpie, uncaps it with his teeth (because of course he does and also Virgil is going to be thinking about that for months), and writes his number on Virgil's arm. Doesn't even ask for his phone. Just his arm. Recaps it, pockets the marker, calls him something that makes Virgil blush to high hell, and leaves.
Cue all the family teasing and the shy text that night of "hey I was given this number at the arcade today?" and the response of "was wondering when you were gonna text me, you cute fuck."
Anyway Remus was also making gay eyes whenever Virgil wasn't and after Roman and Logan told Remus "if you don't I will" he finally went over to talk to him
Teehee!!!

Fucking D E V O U R I N G this I fucking L O V E A L L of this S O fucking much P L E A S E <3!!!!!!!!!!!!
Y'know what? Fuck it? Angst!
Virgil and Remus in a relationship. Maybe it's some angsty teen era, maybe they can have that vibe of a coming of age movie. Maybe. But they get into a fight for whatever reason. Not the toxic kind, but the argument kind, the kind that teenagers who love each other but are figuring out their coping and communication skills have. Maybe Remus makes a comment and it's a bit mean. Maybe.
Virgil doesn't talk to him for a day. Maybe two. Maybe he sends a check in message. Maybe they see each other at school or between class and Virgil has to maturely say he's not ready to talk but he will be, he just needs a tiny bit of time.
Remus is respectful.
Remus isn't, however, patient.
It's late the next night. Maybe 11 or so. Virgil's window is closed, but the terrace next to it is still there. He's in PJs, listening to music, doing homework, and there's a knock on the window. He opens it (after a lot of debate with himself about whether or not he's ready to die first in a horror movie) because hello wtf and Remus comes tumbling into the room, full of apologies and promises he'll do better and suggestions of how he'll do better. Also apologies for not being able to handle two whole days of no talking because "we've never spent more than eight hours not talking!! And we were asleep!!" and Virgil wants to be mad and feel disrespected but Remus is never just flat out vulnerable like he is now and it makes him weepy. He forgives him immediately.
They end up cuddling that night in Virgil's bed, talking about what happened and how to avoid it happening again, Remus holding him like a stuffed animal that could escape any second, occasionally mumbling apologies again for being a dickhead. Virgil forgives him, because of course he does, he loves him. He's a dumbass but he's Virgil's dumbass.
(Virgil's parents are very confused where Remus came from the next day because he wasn't there when they went to bed but y'know what as long as nobody got hurt or did anything unsavory, they'll look the other way. ... Also they're looking the other way again because Virgil smiled for the first time in two days and that's the most valuable part.)

*brushes off my notebook* I haven't told you about it yet? How dare I?
Logan is your average Stressed As Fuck college student. Maybe a master's student, but nonetheless, it is important that he is studying for a degree and he does not want this degree. His parents — who graciously agreed to let him live with them rent free so long as he studied hard, and it was unspoken as well that he had to study what they want — always want him to be working hard. Engineer, lawyer, doctor; pick at your own discretion. He had a sad beige baby childhood, then wasn't allowed to date as a teen, never developed much of the skills as an adult but yearns. God, he yearns. He stuffs it deep down inside, but he yearns. He yearns for a companion, a friend, maybe even a lover. He yearns to study the stars and how they move and work, to work studying them with colleagues of a similar mind and passion.
One night, after a dinner full of particularly snide remarks in regards to the fact he didn't do so well on a previous test despite all the studying, he leaves the house later at night to go on a walk. He finds himself in the woods, finds himself in a clearing, and just starts ranting. He walks the length of it, not realizing it is circular, before there is a voice.
It's not his.
There, in that clearing, he meets Roman, who is so clearly fae. The fae does nothing to hide it. He answers Logan's questions of curiosity — he's never met fae before, only heard about the rules — and is much kinder than anyone else who might take him right off the bat. Roman's actually.. quite sympathetic. Admittedly, it's mostly over the fact that Logan can't have a lover of his own. He calls him handsome more than a few times while complaining himself that it's unjustified if Logan can't have one.
After their conversation settles, and their anger towards the situation settles, Roman goes for a sneaky attempt of his name. Logan catches him. Roman shrugs. "It's in my nature to try," he says, "but maybe I'll call you something star related. Starshine. I like starshine. You can go home tonight, starshine."
Logan's allowed to go home. No boom or curse or anything.
After another fight, he goes back. He thinks it's a long shot but Roman is laying on a long, happy as a cat in the sun. "I had a feeling you'd come back, starshine."
And they begin a friendship. Roman is Logan's only confidant, and Roman admits that he likes having a friend who isn't trying to trick him. The fae world can be quite tricky, after all. They stay up looking at stars and talking about their respective worlds and lives, all while dancing around the fae rules. They don't call each other their real names — Starshine and Red are their names. Why Red? "You wear quite a lot of red."
Roman laughs at how uncreative it is.
After a while of this friendship, a notably long time, Logan breaks down in the forest. Life is awful. Terrible. Worse than he had told Roman. He wants to run away. He knows he can't but he can't help wanting it either. Roman comforts him, holds him, lets him cry. He knows it's risky but he offers Logan a place with him in the fae realm.
"You'll live a life of luxury. You won't have to study anything you don't want to, they won't ever bother you again. The nicest clothes, the richest foods. All the stars you could ever hope to look at."
Logan knows it's a long shot, that he could end up some fae food if Roman was lying to him, but he agrees anyway. In response, Roman tells him his name. It's dangerous, but it's a promise. He'll keep Logan safe forever.
And he didn't lie to Logan. Well, not intentionally. He did leave out being the prince of the summer fae court and being royalty but he was honest about everything else.
And so that's how Logan lives. The nicest, softest clothes. The finest meals. All the books he could want. And at night, when the ball is still going on and Logan goes to the balcony to sit with his telescope, Roman comes with him. He sits down with him, gives him a little kiss on the cheek, and asks which constellations are out that night, even if he's heard them a hundred times.
The end :)
I have a bit of this written actually but it's in a play format! I did it for class and I find scriptwriting fun so :) they exist in the form of a short theatrical play. Anywho :> them. Roman takes such good care of Logan for all of eternity and dotes on him. Logan bonds with Virgil (technically Patton's human, who was a customer service worker who agreed to the fae realm out of pure exhaustion and Patton kinda felt bad, but Virgil is dating Remus) and Janus (another fae who tried to trick Logan but Logan was too 😐 for it to work and Roman proceeded to die laughing) (iirc that's the relationships between the gang)
