Mannnnn i like kinda was aware but only now that im rewatching the vah ruta fight and cutscenes do i process that those two shots, when link is taking that elevator thing up to enter vah ruta, that the camera pov is literally just, link and sidon's 1st person perspective respectively. Like. This is not new fucking obviously i know that this is beating a dead horse but for me its the first time rly processing that okkk

Man. Botw really was so good. I have not finished totk but i just, i feel like in some ways it's just not measuring up to the first one (which i understand was like, an impossible task bc, sequel). Regardless of if you read this scene as like romantic or otherwise, it's undeniably such a beautifully composed shot and just has so much heart. (Ngl i feel like the other regions did not get as good of an execution/presentation as the zora's did in general, so it's not rly fair for me to say botw as a whole is "better" than totk when the zora questline in botw is what makes up most of the "good" parts. But still.)

After seeing you talk on Twitter about how you were in the Undertale fandom at one point, it got me back to thinking about how your fic reminds me of the fic “Flowey is not a Good Life Coach” from the Undertale fandom. Wondering if you’ve read it, and what has your experience been like with Undertale Fanfiction in general? And would you still recommend reading your past Undertale fics?

Oh, that’s a familiar name! Yeah, at the time I followed that fanfic like a hawk, I remember being in the backstage crew in school and reading an update under the lighting board whenever I had a moment that I could slack off. 

And hmm. I think that, as all creatives do, I’ve come a long way since I was in the Undertale fandom with my writing. It’s been what, five years? It was kind of wild because I would post a chapter, have 25 comments that day, and then that was sort of the end of engagement for me. I didn’t really talk to anyone online, I just posted chapters and existed in the background, nothing like how the Rise writing fanfic experience has been. (I DID join one zine though, You’re Pretty Bad at Being Evil. But again, we didn’t talk in there, just posted our work, I had no friends in that lol.) So yeah, no one ever followed me on other websites or talked about it off of fanfic.net. Most of the focus of the fandom was on the Undertale comics community, and boy, that was a LOT of attention to those folks. You can find merch being sold of the aus just as easily as actual Undertale stuff on Redbubble or etsy. I don’t think I’d enjoy that amount of attention actually afsgdhfjg that’s a bit intense for me. 

As for my own Undertale fanfic, hilariously enough I’ve forgotten my own plots. It doesn’t feel like my own writing anymore. Over and Over was my most popular one, which was just me playing with a bunch of different ideas (I bet I could do WAY better now lol that one’s a bit embarrassing now) but do beware that I abandoned the sequel because I lost interest in the fandom. I also did a one shot, All That’s Left, which is a darker piece I wrote about the neutral ending where Sans becomes King of the monsters. I still like that one~
