Remoras are surprisingly agile swimmer on their own, but they prefer to hitch a ride. The suckerfish exhibits one of the most famous examples of mutualism in the animal kingdom, gently cleaning dead skin and parasites from larger marine species in exchange for protection and food scraps from their host's meals. Sometimes, they even attach to divers!

Remoras, or suckerfish form a Mutualistic relationship with sharks. Sharks offer protection, transportation and food, and in return remoras clean sharks of parasites that may irritate or cause problems.

Carangiformes. This order contains the aggressively predatory dolphinfishes, and remoras, which have a sucker-like dorsal fin that allows them to attach to a larger host animal.
