Oh, do you mean that? If the artist created a certain pairing (or opinion or anything) I would never ever disrespect it by changing it and just deleting some of their creations. I am a bit shocked. If I don't like a caption or added line, I don't reblog it, simple at that. Why would I have the right to alter things other people put much work into? Anyway, you can ignor this and maybe I didn't understand you correctly but yeah, a bit shocked here.

I don’t reblog things that are specifically Evanstan (or, at least, I don’t think I do). But if the OP gives the option of both pairings, I choose to delete where it says Evanstan and put that on my blog. I don’t think it’s disrespectful, as I’m not change the fundamental art, and I’m sharing my love for their work with my followers. I’m reblogging because I love what they did, and I don’t think that’s disrespectful.
But, here’s another way to think about it. Think about all the things you reblog and add comments to. Or have you ever seen a string of comments on a reblog and wish a certain comment wasn’t in there? What about something of your own that gets reblogged and comments get added that you don’t agree with, skewing the viewpoint of the original post? These are all things we do on the regular on tumblr, and no one bats an eye.
And every single one is changing what someone before you wanted on that post.
It’s literally no different.
If you noticed, I was MIA from tumblr last week because I made a post that was supposed to be a funny ‘whining at Sam’ sort of thing. Well, a few people took it the wrong way and added comments to it that completely skewed its original intent. I was called a lot of nasty stuff after that.
But the thing is, the part where people added comments and their own viewpoints? There’s nothing wrong with that; we do it all the time. So why is adding something to a post okay, but deleting something not?
That’s what I’m getting at.
