RemRitsu Shining Nikki AU in which Ritsuka discovers the Ocean of Memories, and with it, Rem's reflections. And with them, his past

Some of Rem's reflections are from when he was a kid, she watches until she feels she's intruding. And others are the recent past, the times his father calls on him, preparations for the school festival, the night after Roen's attack

Somewhere down the line, he starts noticing her. It's in the quiet moments, the long nights he's stuck researching the grimoire, when he thinks about her at the end of the day, the evenings where he plays shogi by himself

She's not of this world, she's not the Ritsuka he knows, the Ritsuka he will hurt the next day. She's from the future, she's the Ritsuka that already went through it all and lived

And while it can't change the past, he invites her to sit down and play with him. She has no bearing on the real world

He tells her things, about himself, about his feelings towards her. Things she saw but didn't understand. She listens until the sun rises, and Rem doesn't feel tired the next day. Nothing changes, she was a mere interference in a memory, a dream within a dream. The real Ritsuka won't know anything the next day

When she enters the next reflection, Rem welcomes her back

She won't know anything until many, many years later. But by that time, the Rem whose memories she saw won't be the same Rem that is with her now

Two different versions of the same people, at two different points in time. They will never really meet, not at the same time

Will Ritsuka tell Rem that she's been spending time with the past version of him? Will Rem tell Ritsuka that a future version of her has been plaguing his memories since he was a child?

Will Rem tell her that he has two, even three versions of the same memory, only one of them not invaded by her? Even that one is slowly being replaced by the version she witnessed

The times he went treasure hunting with Urie, he was alone, he knows it. But when he thinks back on it now, he can see Ritsuka's figure standing in the distance. He never turned to Urie to check if that figure was real, he didn't have to. Young Rem knew that nobody was there watching them. But now, when he thinks back on those events, he wonders is she really had been there all along, from the very beginning, watching him

The times he was training until he was exhausted, the long hours that all blurred together into one giant mass, they all gained new clarity. When he looks back, he knows she saw him training on Monday, Friday, Sunday and the following Tuesday

One time, he invited her to be his dance partner. Ritsuka wasn't even born at the time, but Rem has the memory of dancing with her before they even met

It happens later too. He gets her a gift for their anniversary. Ten years later, when he recalls it, Ritsuka is there, watching him. He picks something cute for her and she laughs, because she's happy, because she still cherishes this gift years later. She's happy to see him in that moment, a moment she didn't get to see when it first happened. Rem turns to her, by now used to her dream-like presence and asks her "Do you like it?" The same thing he will ask when he gives it to her

Rem doesn't know how far in the future this Ritsuka is. He doesn't know if the Ritsuka that saw him researching the grimoire was 17 or 45. He can't visualize the way she's dressed, if there are any wrinkles or traces of makeup on her face. But he knows she's Ritsuka. Always Ritsuka.

Rem can't remember a time when Ritsuka wasn't in his life

Hello! I'm new in the "Dance with Devils" fandom, since I literally saw the anime like 3 days ago, but I LOVE IT.

I wanted to do a RemRitsu fanart because I loved that ship since chapter one, and I came across this.

It's an Pulp Fiction AU fanart, where Ritsuka is Mia Wallace and Rem is Vincent Vega. Yeah, crazy, I know.

I'm posting this because I'm afraid it won't work, but boiiii I love the previous lines ❤️

So I somehow stumbled upon an old AMV of mine that I made almost 3 years ago for DwD's first anniversary and I thought I should share it with some of you all who have recently been in the fandom.
