As my need for sadistic Ritsuka persists, and Shiki's obsession with pain persists past the point it should've been gone for good, I couldn't leave this locked away in my drafts !

The only things Ritsuka knows for sure are: 1. She's not doing this because she hates Shiki, 2. She shouldn't let this go too far.

The only things Rem knows for sure are: 1. How to deal the right pain to Shiki, 2. That Ritsuka asked him to, and if it's Ritsuka who asks, he has no reason to refuse her.

Rem whips Shiki at Ritsuka's request. All is going well. Rem was given a request and not an order. All stops going well. Rem does not account for the fact that Shiki's limits do not match Ritsuka's, not when the space around him and Shiki closes to take them back to how they used to be before Ritsuka became theirs

Shiki discovers what agony feels like on human skin, and he doesn't really mind it. But Ritsuka does mind it, and therefore, Rem minds it.

There's something so RemRitsuShiki about the fact that Ritsuka never saw Rem hurt Shiki in Blight. And the fact that it's Rem who asks "did they (vampires) hurt him?" like he's really intent on defending Shiki. And the fact that Ritsuka answers honestly, that "vampires and devils hurt Shiki", but she's saying it to Rem when she knows he's a devil, because he's different from Mage and Urie because she never saw him hurt Shiki--
