To be presented at the 2026 Roland-Garros French Open, the Renault 4 JP4 is an electric, open-air "beach adventurer" show car. It is a modern homage to the original Renault 4 "Plein Air" (1969). Its dual-motor setup provides permanent 4x4 capability. It is not scheduled for series production.

Various classic cars that played a significant role in "motorizing Spain," alongside their production years.
Some of you might note the Fiat (Fabrica Itialiana Automobili Torino) cars labeled as “Seat “. The Fiat-SEAT alliance (1950–1982). No typo. Foundation: SEAT (Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo) was founded on May 9, 1950, as a joint venture between the Spanish government, Spanish bank; Banco Urquijo and Fiat for 600 million pesetas (almost €3.6 million today). Note:- Prior to 1963 Fiats were sold as Fiat.
1982 onwards SEAT joined the Volkswagen Group partnership with signed cooperation agreement with SEAT to produce VW models in Spain. The Spanish government sold SEAT to Volkswagen in 1986, and by 1990, VW held nearly 100% of the company. We’ll get into that in another post.
