Zyraden Emberblood, a bard, former cultist of the Coven of Salvation (a secret cult that created the Voidforge Facility and took the willing and unwilling denizens of Azeroth and forged them in purified Void to combat the "inevitable" rise of the Black Empire), Chosen of the Three Holy Wives (a homebrew trio of mortals who found godhood through the Void).
When Zyraden debuted in 2019 for my guild, he was a villain and a bossfight, but I always had it in my notes that out of him and his brothers (who were also leaders of the Coven and also Chosen of the Three), Zyraden was the most likely to be redeemed. Taken into custody by the Knights of Repentance, Zyraden saw the error and horror of his ways, and vowed to change. He was given a chance by the players to go on parole and join the Knights.
After serving a sentence on parole for five years, Zyraden was freed completely in Year 40. For the first time in his life, he was no longer bound to any other power. Before his Voidforging, he was chronically ill and slowly dying, and could not live his life freely. After his Voidforging, he dedicated thirty years to the Coven, believing himself to be serving the greater good. Then, for five years, he helped dismantle his life's work, bound to the Knights of Repentance in search of redemption.
Now, he is free to be himself, whoever that may be.
This art piece is a direct homage to his initial debut art of his bossfight in 2019 when the Knights of Repentance had its Coven of Salvation campaign.
