Something that didn’t end up fitting into the comment of an already absurd length is that I love how much this series has become a profound character study on how Alastor becomes closer to and emotionally invested in a new friend. I didn’t expect it, but this concept has grabbed me by the neck and won’t let go.
The essays you and some other people leave in my inbox in reponse to my fics completely and unabashedly make my entire day, I hope you know. Some people have pointed out how neat it is to blend smut fics with so much character and relationship study, and I really cannot overemphasize how gratifying it is when people take that and fucking run with it! I genuinely ADORE it when people take the time to pick apart all the stuff I've written - it makes me feel like I've not just succeeded at writing the thing I meant to, but also just really happy to share the things I'm excited about with regards to these characters!! Especially when it's things like, as you said, balancing an exploration of deep and genuine feelings from a character who does not actually do romance, or other fun and unrepentantly queer shit I enjoy writing about.
