I thought I'd share something that happened while i read 'Icarus' this afternoon. Somewhere in part 5, I looked over at my wife and was completely overwhelmed by how lucky we were to find one another and be able to live, (gay!) married, in an apartment, with houseplants and a cat. And while our world is not the same as theirs, it has its obstacles and dangers. 'Icarus' reminded me how precious it is to share a life together. I cried a little, and she came hugged me. Thank you for that.

This is so lovely to hear, thank you so much for telling me. I’m someone who has ended up (through the vagaries of The Heart, known source of ineffability) happily married to a man, but I spent most of my life assuming I would marry a woman (or whatever equivalent to marriage the legal system deigned to allow). This means a lot to me. <3

RENN oh my god.  To start, three small things:

1. Your ‘ghosts tag’ is the most beautiful thing, ever, period.

2. Your selfie game is so on point, I’m always envious.

3. You and @missgiven​ are so great together, I am constantly in a low-level state of wishing the best for both of you in this great big confusing sometimes terrible world.

Our lives are different in a lot of ways but at the same time you are so #relatable in a way that makes me feel less like a mess of a human being, which I appreciate.  Also, your blog title does not lie, you are a powerful lesbian wizard and I can think of few people in the world I would enjoy sighing at Straight Nonsense with more than you.  You’re really funny, in this dry kind of offhand way that never fails to make me laugh.  And you’re also that rare kind of person where even if it has been quite a while between conversations, if I show up and want to talk you are immediately ready to dish, and so friendly and kind and easy to chat with.  Like, if I could be half as cool and gay and funny as you, I would consider it a lifelong victory.

1) my hands and feet are small and pretty. i have dancer wrists and i literally can't move my hands without doing the dancer thing, which might be obnoxious and also is no good as somebody who acts sometimes, but whatever it makes me feel pretty so

2) i really like my eyes!!! they are really similar to my cousin's and my grandma's and i like that i have this cool family trait that we share. they are pretty and mostly green but have a liiiiitle ring of gold in the middle, and renn tells me they change colors but idk

3) i have a little dimple that happens on one side of my mouth when i make just the right expression

i think they'd be really disappointed that i never spent more than one night on any of my term papers in college honestly, but i also never got less than a B+, (and usually got an A) so

5 things I like about myself

1. I really love my hair. Ever since I cut it I’ve been like “damn!” I might even go shorter? 2. I also like my eyebrows. I don’t ever have to pluck them or anything. Just fill em in with a pencil in the morning and I’m good to go. 3. I have a pretty good sense of fashion. I like to describe it with pretty frilliness with a tiny touch of bad-ass. 4. I’m extremely empathetic and get a feel for people pretty quickly 5. My legs are goddess level.

11. What does that last text you sent say: my phone is aaaaaalll the way in my room but it says something to the effect of "And we'll also go to the AQUARIUM!!!!" to my little sister because we want to do the ropes course and see cool fish. 

14. Do you believe in luck and miracles? I'd have to say yeah, I know I've been lucky driving more than once.... 

17. Do you think there is life on other planets? If not now, I think that maybe there was at some past point, or that there must be other planets that have the potential to form life. 

32. Which celebrities would I have a 3 some with? Uhm, I don't really like celebs that way so much, but if I had to, I'd say Natalie Dormer because she's just too cute. 

60. Ever won a competition? for what? I have one competitions for like academics at school and also got lots of medals when I was in gymnastics.
