I'm stopping the cleanse program I'm on, Isagenix, and going back to a protocol my chiropractor had me on before called Repairvite. Isagenix just isn't working. I finished the 30 day program (and had already bought a lot more product because I planned on doing it for several months) and I only lost 7lbs. The numbers should have been way better than that. I was eating about 1,000 calories a day less than I was before starting the program and working out. It sucks because I really liked the set up of Isagenix, but I think the dairy in the whey protein shakes is what was holding me back.
I did Repairvite before and lost 17 lbs. in a month or two, can't remember. It was highly restrictive and I told my chiropractor I couldn't be that intense on it again and he said that was fine. So on this program I will not be eating gluten, dairy, soy, caffeine, and minimal sugar. Also trying to stay away from any type of grains/carbs--minimal brown rice and quinoa only. When I was on this program before, I could not eat any of that plus no nuts, only low-glycemic fruits, no starchy vegetables, etc. It was basically meat and vegetables all day. But it worked. I'm so sick of people telling me "oh, well you must be doing something wrong." No, actually you're just ignorant and think you know everything about weight loss. It's NOT always calories in, calories out. I was eating over 2,000 calories on Repairvite and dropping weight like crazy. For some people, it's all about the ingredients.
Anyways, I hope my revised plan will work for me. I think it is doable and a lifestyle that I can live with if I see the results I want. I will be going back to drinking alcohol about once a week when I go home for summer, so hopefully that doesn't mess it up either.
