GORGEOUS!
repeat-script replied to your post “did you know that tulio from the road to el dorado is voiced by kevin...”
You lost followers over that??? Jfc I hate tumblr sometimes.
i mean i’m not really bothered about people unfollowing me (like, someone following you on tumblr is not a real relationship and everyone is free to curate their dash as they please and i get it if my particular brand of posting is not their cup of tea) i just wanted to clarify my original post
Hey there! Just saw your message. It’s all good 😊. Isn’t it funny how neither of us can remember whatever it was that upset us! Another demonstration to me that I need to take this place less seriously, ha. I mostly do? But sometimes, as I said, the temper slips. One of my 2018 resolutions will be to be more zen around here, and try not to take offence when I think my faves are maligned. Or, at least, I can take offence, but not wade in and try to debate the matter! (Tbc)
More importantly, I’m truly sorry you’ve been targeted over this latest wank. From what I’ve seen, it’s totally unjustified. I’m speculating here, but I suspect you and the authors involved are getting hate from the same anons, who aren’t happy with your civilised stance! Some of the complaints seem similar and contain the same turns of phrase. Regardless, rest assured you’ve done nothing to contribute to this drama AT ALL, and from the looks of it, your friends are behind you. Stay strong.
Oh my god thank you so much! You are like, restoring my faith in humanity one message at a time 😭 ❤️ 😭 ❤️
And yeah, that whole “not wade in and try to debate the matter!” thing has been something I have really tried to get better about in fandom in the past year. I just realized that constantly seeking out negativity and shit I don’t like or that made me angry, it was turning me into a really unhappy person. It was messing with my head and my moods and my life tbh. I just had to stop, because I wasn’t okay and it wasn’t good for me. Not doing that anymore, it’s made my experience on here (mostly) a lot better! I have genuinely been able to tell the difference.
Not to say I don’t get into it anymore lol, I 1200% do. But I try to keep it to like, when people bring their flaming bag of shit to my doorstep and throw it at me, either in my Ask or on one of my posts or something. But I consider that justified self defense lol 😁
Anyway, thank you sooo so much for taking the time to send me these messages… You are just absolutely awesome for doing this!
I've just dl'ed the s7 soundtrack from iTunes. It's beautiful, but I was disappointed the music from the ep 7 preview wasn't featured! To me, it evoked the Light of the Seven in a way, hinting at another long score-led sequence. The destruction of the Sept was a highlight of 6x10 - hell, of the whole series - and I was hoping for something that epic in 7x07. Has you listened to the whole thing? Have I missed a track (she asks hopefully)?
Hey bud!! Yeah, I’ve listened to it all and I have to agree with you.
I was hoping that we would get another “Light of the Seven”-esque epic track for the finale. But I just think that this is going to be a different sort of finale. In past seasons, sometimes the penultimate episode has the biggest shock, and sometimes it’s the final episode. I think that in this case, it was the penultimate episode with Viserion.
We aren’t going to have anything to rival the destruction of the Sept in terms of shock value and as such there isn’t music to build to that sort of moment :/
I do think “Truth” is really powerful, though. Just in a different way. It’s more bittersweet and romantic and less “OH SHIT A THING IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.”
Because as much as we love the coming boatsex, and as interested as I am in how the show will handle the revelation of Jon’s name, it isn’t that big of a shocker. We already know that Jon is a Targ. We already know that he’s legitimate. His name isn’t nearly the plot moment that the Sept destruction was. So the music doesn’t have the same intrigue I guess :/
To me the most intense music of the soundtrack was “The Spoils of War” and as much as I love the more romantic Jonerys moments, that’s probably my favorite episode of the season as well :)
repeat-script replied to your post “hey guys do you ever think about sansa? like, like, really think about...”
She is a an incredibly brave and resilient woman. But let's not pretend she "always" loved Jon. She was unkind to him as a child and admits as much and apologised. She may love him now, but still doesn't trust him. She mislead him about the battle, and AGAIN apologised for it. Every character in asoiaf has flaws. It's what makes them interesting. Don't do her the disservice of whitewashing hers.
I... disagree.
Sansa did love Jon- distance doesn’t imply hate. You’ll never convince me that any of the Starks hated each other, because their relationships are such that, underlying the anger or hurt or jealousy, there’s always love. (Also note that I didn’t say Sansa liked Jon. Liking and loving are two very different things, and I chose that word very specifically.)
As to Sansa being unkind- people can be really mean when they’re children to siblings. There are things I’ve done to my sister that I still cringe at thinking about, things she’s done to me that she’s apologized for. That doesn’t mean that we didn’t love each other then, or that we don’t love each other now. For Sansa, canonically, she sided with her mother in a terribly confusing situation, which is entirely understandable. Her apology was- as Jon says- unnecessary, but something that makes everyone involved feel better.
Sansa does have a lot of flaws, and I’m not attempting to erase any of them. She’s petty, has a black-or-white morality- particularly in the beginning of the series- is quick to make judgments, easily rewrites reality to fit her own internal narrative, in s6 has MAJOR trust issues- the list goes on and on. None of this erases her strength, or her kindness, or her character in general.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
