CALLING ANY FOSTER KIDS
One of my characters is in a fantasy setting’s version of foster care. I’m thinking it should be a mixture of the foster care system and orphanages, where orphanages are the temporary homes between different foster placements, but some children never end up with permanent placements because of various factors.
I’m reworking their backstory right now, and want to make sure it’s as realistic and respectful to actual foster care as it can be.
Any current or former foster kids or foster parents are encouraged to reach out by sending me an ask or message. I’ve never been in foster care, so I’d love to talk with all of you.
I JUST THOUGHT OF THE COOLEST WAY TO DESCRIBE MY ANGELS AND DEMONS
The fucked up little gay people in my head are receiving emotional support
Me: If Saeren were a villain, he’d have the kind of redemption arc where he’d always be like “how dare you infect me with morals?”.
Like. He’d be walking away from a terrible situation, stop in his tracks, curse, then turn around to go help.
My mom: So, like The Grinch?
Me:
Concept
Kaz making Saeren go absolutely feral by accusing Heaven of starting The Great Emu War
happy sts! are there any songs that you associate with your characters?
ooof this ask is so old my friend deactivated again and got a new acc
And yes!!
Angel with a Shotgun by The Cab is perfect for Saeren, because, you know, chaotic sarcastic angel boy.
I don’t have any specific ones for Kaz, but for the two of them, Sinners by Lauren Aquilina. It’s so wonderfully queer and has so much biblical imagery it’s hard not to associate with those two :)
For Lailah... Pomegranate Seeds by Julian Moon, maybe? But only if all the romantic connotations are taken out, because then it’s much more about the Devil trying to find new souls and his victim trying to find their way back to wherever it is they came from.
Oz would be... something edgy and rebellious, with a lot of pent-up teenaged angst. Maybe Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd?
Nothing specific for Asmodeus or Camael, unfortunately. Thanks for the ask!
