howler: for the span of like… 3-4 years (?) i used to get in really big blow out fights with my parents, the first years with my dad, then with my mom, and anyways, i dont really get in trouble cause i dont do “bad things”, but the most they reacted was once after a particularly bad fight i left the house to sit in my car to calm down and they thought i ran away??? like the times i actually left the property they didnt even go looking for me? and this time i was sitting in the GODDAMN DRIVE WAY? and they couldn’t find me? it was such bs  im still salty

idk if this is from a ask me game or whatever but its an interesting quote. heres what i think about it,

i love making people happy. im very empathetic and i  know what its like to suffer, but usually when people say you cant please everyone, its in a form a self preservation. there will be times when no matter what you do, somebody is gonna feel hurt, or nothing will be good enough for them. sometimes they will want you to do impossible tasks and they still wont be please with you. if you can come to a compromise then hey! that’s great! but if that person continuously doesnt acknowledge your effort then you have to step back and say hey, do i really want to suffer and make my life a living hell for someone who wont even say thank you?

obviously its good to make an effort to get along with others. i try to be selfless and helpful but there is always a point. so saying you cant please everyone is less of a cop out and more of a reminder that you are a human living your own life. you have boundaries, you have control, you deserve to be treated with respect.

j-mainstream so basically the sat is a stupid 4 hour long test that the college board uses to suck up money. It doesn't test intelligence or anything, just how well you take tests. It costs like $60 just for a fucking test and it's so wound up in the American college system that you're required to take it to even apply for admission. Also, unless you get an amazing score the first time you take it, you have to take it over and over again till you get like... At least an 1800. (That's what's considered a good score)
