“it’s not like i’m asking to go to a fancy restaurant or something. let’s just go to denny’s or something and get an endless stack of pancakes,” jude said, trying to convince her friends to get a late dinner with her before they all went home. they’d come downtown in the evening so that they could grab a game from a specific store that they had pre-ordered, and now they were keen to go home and play. jude was hangry: hungry because she’d rushed to leave her house when her friends picked her up because she was studying for a case and lost track of time, meaning she never ate; and angry because she’d seen cooper with a woman earlier. “i’m hungry, ricky!” she grabbed one of her friends arms, giving him a shake.
