Mafumafu’s Second Hiki-Live in Makuhari Messe Hall (3/20 & 3/21)—Live Report

Mafumafu and his friends to Makuhari [Messe hall] again! “Shadow Announcer” Ono Yuuki’s unbelievable entry too (3/20-21)—Live Report
March 20 and 21 in Chiba, Mafumafu’s live event “Hikikomori demo LIVE ga shitai! ~Ashita Iro World End Release Commemoration Performance~ (I’m a Shut-In but I Want to do a LIVE!)” took place in halls 9-11.
Last year’s February in Chiba as well, Mafumafu’s one-man live was carried out in the Makuhari Event Hall. This year’s performance is to commemorate two days, which is done over and over, for the releasing of his latest album “Ashita Iro World End” last October 2017. For each day, there was approximately 15,000 people, and to add for both days, there were 30,000 fans who came to the Makuhari [Messe hall]. In addition to Mafumafu, he and other fellow artists participated in “Hikikomori demo LIVE ga Shitai!” In this article, we will report the second day’s flow.
[Everyone behind the concert] shocked the fans with a surprise that the seiyuu*, Ono Yuuki, is in charge of [being] the shadow announcer; and the number of illuminations and monitors were used as Mafumafu entered the dazzling stage. He starts off with an upper tune of “Rinne Tensei (Reincarnation)” and “Tachiiri Kinshi (No Entry)” successively, then at once, the enthusiasm [of the audience] on the floor boosted. The first guest that appeared, nqrse, played with a new song “Nectar”, in addition to “ECHO.” With Mafumafu’s soft voice, nqrse’s moody rap happened.

As the session number “Satsuki Ame (The May Rain)” was played by the backband, the guests UraShimaSakataSen entered with the balled number “Oborozuki (Hazy Moon).” Mafumafu changed into clothes that has the same design as their (USSS’s) costumes, then joined in the guitar performance. Just before this performance, the new song “Toshi ni Ichiya no Koi Moyou (Overnight Love Pattern of the Year)” was released in Niconico Douga and YouTube, then the venue was engulfed in UraShimaSakataSen’s carefree voices while they walked towards the runway. Cheering voices were heard in every direction inside [the venue] as they warmly smiled while they looked over the fans.
Soraru entered [the stage] as Mafumafu joined voices with him in “Suisei Ressha no Bell ga Naru (The Comet Train’s Bell is Ringing).” Furthermore, Soraru’s main vocals worked for “Merry Bad End,” then a voluptuous atmosphere was created, [making] the audience fascinated.
During the MC, the audience was delighted after [Soraru and Mafumafu] revealed their enthusiasm for their activities in their unit, After the Rain; saying that “it’s a lot of fun to do” and “anyway, we’re making a lot of songs!” and that they were becoming even more active.
Then Amatsuki participated in “Mikazuki Resize (Crescent Moon Resize)”; he lead the performance with a powerful and boyish voice. Then in “Non-Fantasy”, he and Mafumafu said “I like you” at the same time while the venue was wrapped in a yellow cheer. During the MC, Amastsuki said—surprised at the feeling of a scale, and after Mafumafu’s tired state wherein he lie down on the corner of the stage—“Makuhari Messe is cool, huh. It’s so huge!” The audience laughed at Amatsuki’s concern when Mafumafu muttered, “It’s no good... water is not enough...”
After the backband’s session number of “byakuya”, Mafumafu—whose body is wrapped in an angel’s raiment—appeared in the center runway. After performing “Byoumei wa Ai datta (This Disease Called Love)” and “Futari Bocchi (The Two of Us Alone*)”, he talked out how he felt; “I think that from diverse scenes of people to various things people have taught me, and things that I have [learned] from experience, and while cherishing Niconico (Douga) and an utaite’s culture, I’m going to have a better surrounding.” He looked back, then continued, “Why don’t I go away from NND for a while? Even though there are people who will worry, this (Niconico Douga) will always be my platform. I won’t change, but I want to try and make a difference.” After that, he performed “Suisai Ginga no Chronicle (Watercolor-Galaxy Chronicle)”, then [while he was performing], not only the stage but also the sides of the audience’s seatings and the whole area were lit up. The entire hall become a starry sky—there was a scale-like atmosphere—then the performance was brought to an end.
At this part is the encore where all guests entered, wearing cat ears as the curtains rose to “Super Nuko ni Naritai (I Want to be a Super Cat).” The well-known call, “niboshi (sardines)” flew around as a giant balloon floated around the hall. During the MC, everyone looked back on this year’s performance, and we could see how close the performers are to each other by Amatsuki fixing Soraru’s cat ears, and Mafumafu removing his cat ears while Soraru is gone. Furthermore, during the encore, the responsible shadow announcer, Ono Yuuki, also appeared on stage. There was a premium surprise of everyone singing together with Mafumafu of “Gikyoku to Deforme Toshi (Drama and the Deformed City)” and “Batsu Game (Punishment Game)”, and the audience was greatly excited.
A smile came across Mafumafu when he saw the delighted audience enjoy the collaboration with Ono, and said deeply in the bottom of his heart, “Because today only comes once, I will burn this scene into my memory and keep it in my heart.” And in the last part, they performed “Shuuten (Terminus)” and “Yume no Mata Yume (A Dream in Another Dream)” then the curtains in the second day of the Makuhari Messe Hall performance closed.

Soraru’s Final Live For His National Tour in Yokohama Arena (11/25) — Live Report

Soraru, the tour finished at a sold-out solo performance in Yokohama Arena
“It became a dream-like day.”
At November 25, the last performance of the national tour “SORARU LIVE TOUR 2017 ~Yumemiru Sekai no Arukikata (To Dream of A Way of Walking on The World)~” Soraru finished it in Kanagawa, Yokohama Arena.
Following the schedule, the audience’s lightings fall, then their hands held out the changing blue-colored penlights which was [illuminated] Soraru’s image color that made the venue fill up like a magical scenery. Blue light is filled up inside the venue, from the vicinity of the stage, standing right before the mic stand appeared Soraru, who started the live [by singing] Harumaki Gohan’s offered song, “Mercuria.” [After] singing the first song at the top of his lungs, Soraru shouted, “The tour’s final [concert] came here at Yokohama Arena!” then he sang the rock number, “Sutego no Stella (Abandoned Stella).” After that, he sang “Senshoku (Staining).” So then, while he was walking on the stage and reaching out through his singing voice, everyone inside the venue got excited.
The MC [part] entering, Soraru surveyed the venue place and said one word*, “It’s so spacious.” After that, he addressed, “I’m very excited. It’s really the best. Take care of me today,” then he covered the VOCALOID song, “Sharuru (Charles),” then continued to perform a recorded song, “Good Night Fall,” from his latest album, “Yumemiru Tamago no Sodatekata (To Dream of a Method of Raising an Egg).” So then, an image of rain—as if it’s falling down—displayed as a feeling* while the rich voice of Soraru resounded inside [the venue] while singing to “Nee, Rain (Hey, Rain).” The live was colored by the large amount of bubbles that floated inside the venue when Soraru sang his own song, “Biidama no Naka no Uchuu (Space in the Marble).” Again in the live, the MC is at the middle [of the stage] while the band members, together with Soraru, looked back* at the tour as they talked. Even though it’s such a big stage, they were all in a relaxed mode as Soraru looked back at the tour together with his members and the fans.

At the second half of the live, Soraru spoke, “So after the long-awaited After the Rain song and a Mafumafu song as well...” then delivered Mafumafu’s “Yume no Mata Yume (A Dream in Another Dream)” and After the Rain’s “Shikioriori ni Tayutaite (Swaying From Season to Season).” In between singing “Shikioriori ni Tayutaite (Swaying From Season to Season),” Soraru called out “Sing!” then the venue was engulfed with a loud sing-along. The song ended, then he took off his cardigan and rolled up his sleeves as he boarded the prepared trolley [located] horizontal to the stage then sang “Suisei Honeymoon (Comet Honeymoon)” enthusiastically. Right before the fans’ very eyes, the performance fascinated them. While Soraru was singing “FirePit,” an orchestra entered the stage. Behind Soraru was the performance of the orchestra, who had powerful voices showing. During an interlude, the audience was set into two groups where they unfolded the Call & Response which a pleasant harmony was resounded.
At the final MC, Soraru personally opened up his thoughts, saying, “Concerts* [used to be] such a scary place,” then he gave his words of gratitude to the fans, “I will never forget this scenery. Thank you.” Afterwards, he also announced his activities in After the Rain, “If I’m together standing on stage with Mafumafu, it’s not scary at all. With various activities connected, little by little, my level is going up*,” he said. “I’m satisfied with my life,” he then added while smiling, “The feeling is as if I won in the lottery. Maybe I could draw an SR*?” The last song of this part is “Boku no Hero (My Hero).” From the audience, a voice of admiration was omitted at one side of the stage that displayed a transformation of [an image similar to] a star in a night sky. After singing a total of 18 songs, the main part of the live ended. Soraru left the stage by the time a grand applause and cheer inside [resounded].

A response to the passionate encore, Soraru re-appeared on stage with the same gathered fans inside the venue whom he stated his words of gratitude to, “Because I’ll be doing something next year [too], please come. It’s a promise. From today onwards, let’s have fun together,” he called out. He said again, “While I associate with various people, I’m growing little by little. With that, don’t be satisfied with [just] this because I’m giving more and more of my best, and I want you [all] to see it. I will [always] remember this scenery. It became a dream-like day.” Then he sang the last number, “Yuudamari no Shiori (The Bookmark of the Evening Sunset).” When all he songs sung were finished, Soraru, together with the band members, held hand-in-hand and bowed silently as the tour’s final [concert] at the Yokohama Arena came to an end.

Mafumafu, the big success of the Makuhari One-Man Tour was accomplished
“In my whole life, I want to do music”
February 5 in Chiba・In the Makuhari event hall, the final performance of Mafumafu’s one-man tour, “Hikikomori demo LIVE ga Shitai! (I am a Shut-In but I Want to do a Live!)” was held.
In the assembly hall, about 7000 fans gathered. Heat was filled throughout the assembly hall before the curtains rose. At the appointed time, the intro of the first song, “Datsugoku (Jailbreak)” started to play, and from above the stage, Mafumafu entered with a black mask covering his face. After that, he got down the stage and took off the mask. Mafumafu’s original songs, “Tachiiri Kinshi (No Entry)” and “Berserk” was delivered successfully as the fans’ voltage* raised. In the first MC [he said], “Welcome, we appreciate you being here!” and the fans greeted and a grand cheer was arose from the floor. The opening of the live showed a great excitement. (*T/N: “voltage” is referred to as the fans’ energy)
Mafumafu said, “I will sing [one of] my valuable songs,” and from talking, he started “Kyouka Suigetsu (Mirror Flower, Water Moon)”. He slowly addressed a speech until he delivered a song as the audience switched their penlights to a white color and swayed it slowly, and carefully listened to his voice. In the middle of the live, he held a guitar and joined the band members’ musical performance as the assembly hall became excited. Following the song announced last year, “Batsu Game (Punishment Game)” played on stage as a pillar of fire rose inside the meeting place as the hot air rose. Also in the MC, he showed the imitation of Soraru, who he’s working together with in After the Rain, as the audience laughed.
After the Rain’s first representative song, he sang “Sekaishikku ni Shounen Shoujo (World-Sick Boys and Girls)”. Not just Mafumafu’s white image color, but also Soraru’s blue image color was lightened up by countless of penlights inside the meeting place, and a wondrous scenery was spread out. In the last MC, Mafumafu looked back to his past and said, “I’ve given up on life many, many times. I want to show this scenery to myself in those days,” and the fans expressed their gratitude towards him. Right after, he sang, “Suisei Ressha no Bell ga Naru (The Comet Train’s Bell is Ringing)”. A total of 15 songs sung by one person was cut off, and Mafumafu left the stage with a smile.
In the passionate encore, the stage was responded again by his appearance. Mafumafu said, “A great number of people who listened to one person alone who can stand in such big stage. Thank you so much. Everyone who gave me this place, the me today will cherish it; I want to do music in my whole life. I am really happy.” Then, the audience gathered in the assembly hall, and expressed their gratitude towards him again. In the encore, he sang “Ouka ni Tsukiyo to Sode Shigure (Cherry Blossom Under The Moonlit Night and Drizzled Sleeves)”. The fans waited, and as if to say, the color of the penlights changed to pink, and the oneness of the performance unfolded. And the last number of this day’s performance, “Super Nuko ni Naritai (I Want to be a Super Cat)”. Above the seats [of the audience], a huge balloon rolled inside, then Mafumafu attached cat ears [on himself], and he ran from left to right on stage, as the audience inside the assembly hall stirred up. Throughout the song, the audience rose a grand call, “*Niboshi (dried sardines/anchovies)”. During the big success, the solo performance in the Makuhari Event Hall celebrated its grand finale. After the Rain’s Countdown Party in Tokyo Dome City Hall (12/31 - 01/01) ― live report

Just a reminder that Soraru wasn’t included in the Countdown Party due to a bad health condition. So, the live that should’ve took place before the party was postponed to another date (February 23, 2017).
Two people together as one, After the Rain, accomplished their New Year’s Eve concert with support from friends and the audience.
December 31, 2016 in Tokyo・In TOKYO DOME CITY HALL, After the Rain’s Countdown Live, “After the Rain COUNTDOWN PARTY 2016-17″ was carried out.
Earlier on the day of the live, because of Soraru’s bad health, his stage appearance for the New Year’s Eve concert was announced cancelled, and the live was carried out by five people, Mafumafu, luz, Uratanuki, Tonari no Sakata, and Wolpis Kater. Even if they cancelled it, there was still a great number of fans packed in the hall of the live, and their last concert of 2016 was enjoyed.
Five performers appeared on stage for the starting time of the concert. They sang the up-tuned song with their combined voices, “Dappou Rock (Law-Evading Rock)”, and delivered the event with a vigorous start. The second song, “Lost One no Goukoku (Lost One’s Weeping)”, then was followed by a raised prosperous yell from the audience, and the event’s opening had a repeated sense of unity from the performance that was unfolded. The first MC, Mafumafu, faced and addressed to the fans, “Soraru-san can’t attend this performance because his physical condition is bad. I really wanted to do this last performance with everyone, however the five of us are going to do what we could, so everyone, please enjoy before you leave.”
After the MC, luz, who remained on stage said, “I want one promise,” he cut off [then added], “Let’s start the New Year with a best smile!” Since the audience were all stirred up, he sang Fragile”, which was originally planned to be a duet with Soraru. The audience lit up white penlights for luz’s image color, and blue penlights for Soraru’s image color, as they sent their cheers to the stage. Uratanuki talked in full playfulness, “I will do my best for Sorapi”, then sang, “Heart no Atoaji (Aftertaste of the Heart)”, which he collaborated with Soraru at the countdown live in 2015. Wolpis Kater, who hadn’t had a live for the first time in four years, had a duet of “Berserk” with Mafumafu. The two people released a joint high-toned voice, letting loud and comfortable notes resound inside the hall. Tonari no Sakata softly sung Back Number’s, “Christmas Song” which fascinated the fans.
Each solo performance that finished, the MC was a little bit longer. On stage, the five people gathered and discussed, “If we had to choose amongst ourselves to be our girlfriend, who would it be?” They entertained the audience with that talk, then there was one minute left until the end of the year. Together with the audience, a grand countdown was carried out as the curtains rose on 2017 with great cheers. Afterwards, they sang two songs nonstop, “Super Nuko World” and “Zen Zen Zense (Many Previous Existences)” as the audience showed excitement like in festivities inside the hall. The final part of the live, Mafumafu remained on stage, alone, and said, “In After the Rain, we are two people together as one. The last song to be sung by one person is really difficult, that’s why, I’d like everyone to help me out.” Then he sung, “Sekaishikku ni Shounen Shoujo (World-Sick Boys and Girls)”. The audience sang Soraru’s singing parts, and a grand sing-along was heard inside, then the curtains closed on the last live.
On the encore, Mafumafu made an appearance again on stage and told a story about a talk he had with Soraru before, “If we can’t make it to a live, what should we do?” He replied, “If one of us can’t stand on stage, one of us will do it alone. So, I will sing alone.” He sung After the Rain’s signature song enthusiastically, “Ouka ni Tsukiyo to Sode Shigure (The Moonlit Night and The Tear-Stained Sleeves Under Cherry Blossoms)”. The audience changed the color of their penlights to pink, and the hall turned to an unseasonable bloom of “cherry blossoms”. The five performers gathered on stage, and Mafumafu said, “Various things may still happen after this, and to be able to meet such friends like these, and to be able to meet everyone, I am very thankful.” Then they performed their last song, “Super Nuko ni Naritai (I Want to Become A Super Cat)”. The five people ran around on stage with attached cat ears on, and with that, “After the Rain COUNTDOWN PARTY 2016-17″ was led to the finale and a big success.
After the end of the performance, the stage’s screen switched, to remind that After the Rain will have an important announcement on January 5 (Thursday). They plan to carry out the announcement via TwitCasting and NicoNico Namahousou (Live Broadcast) at 8PM JST.

【Karen-chan Talk & Live Report Part 2】
Somewhat, the order of the talk may be going back and forth, please understand.
In between one song, the story continued to follow the path that Karen-chan walked.
It’s the story back in AKB, she talked about how she felt grateful for being able to stand on Tokyo Dome and Budokan, talked about how the 12th generation got along well and gathered.
What was the hardest thing in her AKB era? What Tachibana-san asked, for a moment Karen-chan’s face turned to a complicated expression that it looked like she’s about to cry. This was what I felt personally, but I felt that the wounds of her junior high school era deeply remained in Karen-chan.

In the AKB era, it's tough to have to memorize so many songs by the next day, but because she loves singing, she didn’t think it was hard. The hardest thing in AKB era was, not in AKB activity, but turned to be the story of Solomon’s Perjury’s audition.
Karen-chan was aiming for the bullied kid role (an important main cast), from director also told her that her eyes only holds darkness was good, after all, what kind of things her eyes holds, I was thinking it came from her regular life, she didn’t make friends at all and challenged the audition in loneliness.

Soraru, National Tour in the Aichi [Prefecture] Completed (The Best of Summer)

All of the recorded songs in the latest album [of Soraru] was performed, then [they] closed the curtains [after] the live.
The grand encore was responded by the band members going once more on stage [with] Soraru saying, “The tour ended obediently and it [somehow] feels lonely. The staffs [also] seemed to feel that way. I want to do this live again,” then the fans turned once again and conveyed their feeling of gratitude. Finally, he performed the song, “Yuudamari no Shiori (Bookmark of the Evening Reservoir)” from the [same titled] album he released last year.
