So, I talked about ask-a-grate yesterday. I mentioned how they're more than just an amusing character blog; they're really a public service, using their powers for good and helping askers with well-thought-out, informative answers and an utter lack of cynicism that's frankly unprecedented on the Internet these days.

They've never asked for anything for themselves. However, the ask-a-grate mods have been trying to raise funds to sponsor a rescue turtle, a very good cause, as people frequently adopt pet turtles without knowing the care involved, resulting in more of this need than you might expect. The mods have said they'd be thrilled to raise even US$100 by the end of the year. $100 isn't a lot of money---a few dollars here and there really add up---so why not throw in your bit today?
