you were used to the white walls , the bright light that almost seemed like what the afterlife could look given how many times you’ve ben admitted in these halls . [ REALLY COUNTLESS OF TIMES HAVE ESCAPED IT . ] had your connections with some frontliners that had your back . everything was familiar , except the room . it was much sleeker , definitely something you couldn’t afford and much …well private . eyes still squinting to wake , blurred potentially from the drugs that wore you out a couple hours ago , the grogginess settling finally as you fully awaken . wincing still at the pains across your body . ( how the fuck am i in these rooms? )

could barely move , muscles were weak from potential anaesthetic and you notice the sling of your arm , not broken but injured enough . [ HOW IRONIC ] that you hadn’t actually broken bones at this point . still , damage was enough to be maimed helpless for days . doesn’t add to the fact that your immune system was low , you turn finally moving a figure and a face , Registering finally that it was seth . GUILT , NOW RUSHED THROUGH MORE DEBTS YOU OWED HIM . for countlessly saving you . unable to form words , you take a big huff .

“ why couldn’t you just let me handle it.” words are bitter , but a tear from frustration falls . grateful that he’d been taken care of , but at what cost?? the conflicting balance of what it really means for him and his brother .

there’s silence at expense , thought you’ve had a middle ground and fair share of conversations , though whenever his history or his job was on the table of topic , there’s coldness that fills the air . you never pushed , but some days she felt like secrets were piling on top of another and you never knew whether [ YOU ALSO WERE JUST A PAWN ] . no labels or confirmation of feelings yet , but from after nights , multiple occasions of slowly building a connection , you thought maybe it was going somewhere .
