Hi! I am looking for a fic that I read on AO3 a while ago. Basically, Steve and Tony end up somehow in a parallel universe where everything seems pretty much the same (except I think in this universe, Steve and Tony are married? Or otherwise in a relationship) except for the team seems much closer than in their universe. If I remember correctly, they live life basically as usual for a while, but they both are having a growing sense that Something Is Wrong. A moment that stands out to me is that after a mission, during debrief the parallel universe team members are like “yeah there were civilian casualties but at least the whole team is ok!!” and there’s another moment with Natasha where they’re explaining about their universe and she’s like “ok but the team is together there right? Right????” And Steve and Tony basically conclude that the thing that’s wrong in this universe is that the team members care more about each other than they do about actually protecting the world.
As I’m typing this I’m remembering more, and I think this was like. Post Civil War Tony and Steve end up back in time and in a parallel universe to 2012 or so.
