Kouha is glad to be paired with someone who seems interesting enough already. She doesn’t return his greeting with false smiles, but with stiff words and little friendliness despite the fact that they’d be living together. Whether or not if that was something he expected is still to be decided, but her neutral expression is welcome nonetheless. She’d probably take some time to adjust to his eccentric personality, most people due, but the prince likes the thought of a challenge rather than someone willing to go along with whatever this whole thing was.
❝Yes you’ll do.❞ He confirms with a small nod of his head, smile still in place. The commanding tone he thinks he detects in her voice is easily ignored because it’s a tad bit endearing how she already thinks he’s one to be commanded. He’ll let her have this one however, and takes his smaller hand into her larger one because it’s simple enough, and shakes it once but does not let go.
❝My name is Kouha Ren, third Imperial Prince of the Kou empire.❞ The male states pride notable in his tone. ❝Since you’re my new wife you can refer to me as Prince Kouha or just Kouha. You’re lucky that you have me as a husband, so be a little more happier about this won’t you? What will the child think when they arrive and find out that one of their parents isn’t happy with the other?❞
His repeated statement did nothing to clear Naoto's confusion, nor did his prolonged grip on her hand. She cocked her head to the side for a moment, glancing down and wiggling her fingers slightly to indicate he probably should have let go a while back. He seemed friendly enough, but there was something about the way that he spoke that rubbed her the wrong way.
Imperial Prince? Kou empire? To Naoto, his titles were more perplexing than they were impressive. So she was in the presence of royalty, or something like that? Interesting, maybe, but if he thought he was going to get any special privileges he was dead wrong. She would address him as "Kouha" and nothing more. It wasn't as if his empire had any influence in the strange civilization, anyways (or so she hoped).
"Lucky", was she? She raised an eyebrow at him, but decided not to touch on that. "I don't see how I can even pretend to be happy in a situation like this, honestly." she murmured, giving him a doubtful look. The thought of a child, even adopted, intimidated her quite a bit. Not only was she faced with a stranger of a husband, but they just had to throw in a stranger of a kid to make things difficult. "A child is the least of my worries at the moment."
