Starter kit development
I was thinking about introducing three kits, at different difficulty levels. This would be so people who are brand new to fermenting foods can start off easy, and slowly work their way up into something more complicated. I think having a variety of kits would also serve to a wider audience, as not everyone would just be interested in kombucha.
Kimchi, in my opinion, is more difficult to make that kefir and kombucha because it requires you to source more ingredients that wouldn’t be included in the kit e.g. fresh vegetables such as Napa cabbage. Kefir is easy because it literally just requires you to add kefir grains to milk - you can then begin to flavour it after the first fermentation period. I think kombucha is medium because there are more steps to the process that kefir but basically everything you need can be included in the kit.

Research/Varn and the book of spells
From 1:55 to 2:11 in these animated series of Sabrina the teenage witch they used a unique combination of modern day household items to create a magic spell, for my film i also want to do the same thing use ordinary objects as a sacrifice or a catalyst for the spells that Varn is doing.
I’ve been trying to search for modern day animated films that use magic in a modern setting but from my searches i’ve had no luck, i have however found a film that has the same pace i want my film to be with it’s comedy quick funny moments that catch your eye and they look quite simple to make.
This film uses a crocodile as way to show anxiety for this young women she never wants it around and wishes to just leave, she tries everything to get rid of the crocodile throwing it over her balcony or kicking it into the canal. I also think the style is beautiful and sketchy i want to imitate the smoothness of the animation and not the style of the film, as well as try to be as comedic as this film with my own underlined meaning that this film also has there’s is anxiety and mine is hard work.
The Flaneur Briefing

Today I was absent from illness but these notes are comprised from those of my classmates during my absence. Today there was a briefing by Simon Pruciak on his work and the project we will be beginning Simon Pruciaks works: Where is the river? He broke down parts of a river into volumes of photographs which included sticks, morphed images of teh water and long strings of text. Image of the Road E40 He travelled along one of the longest roads in Europe taking photographs and videos that were purposefully non-aesthetic to seem bland to the viewer

Video art is different to cinema, it is designed to be non-commercial and if it sells there is no problem with that but it is not the point of the art. The first video was simply a train arriving into a station, shot by the Lumiere brothers though they are not the only people to have claimed that they were the original inventors of the moving image.
Important camera information: Exposure - amount of light let into the camera Aperture - size of the hole in the lens 22 - 2.8 (Higher the number the smaller the hole) Shutter speed - how long the curtain stays open ISO (Sensitivity) - how fast your film reacts to light (The lower numbers are better quality, the higher are less high quality)
