thinking about ashley residentevil graham having sheltered rich kid ennui her whole life. she's beautiful she's perfect she's a prop for her dad's career has everything she materially wants but can't sneak out with her friends or do anything fun, what if she winds up on fox & friends, god. so she spends most of her teens reading extremely angsty fiction thinking wow if i were paralyzed in a tragic accident i would be soooo brave about it. she goes to a "victims of raccoon city incident" benefit where leon and claire and sherry are trotted out and winds up talking to claire who was just, you know, a college student whose brother taught her to shoot before RE2. and it's awful obviously but there's a part of ashley thinking what if that happened to me. i wonder if i could do that. i could be so calm and cool and useful in a crisis, if i just had a chance to prove it.
