Avid bit down on his lip, looking over his shoulders, paranoia clearly on his face. He glanced back to Shelby. His purple eyes showing so much fear.

"I-yes- Yeah I did- I didn't trust the others, Shelby- I- I know it's a lot to ask- But I didn't know who else I could trust to do this!"

He moved closer to Shelby, almost wanting to take their hands, before hesitating. His eyes darting to the ground.

"I-I just- I have a feeling this- turning me would help me- I'm running out of time! I can feel it! I swear-! W-We could hide me! Make sure they never find out! Please Shelby-!"

A figure dressed in black approaches Avid, giving a small bow of their head. “Good evening Avid, how are you enjoying the masquerade so far?” Abolish asked while lightly grabbing to goblets from a passing server and holding one out to them for them to take. avid has to fight the urge to jump, still rather... skittish even after turning. seems like that might, unfortunately, just be embedded in his personality now. lovely. "abolish! hi! hey! i didn't-- i didn't know you would be here too!" a hand reaches up, adjusting his collar for a brief moment.

"it's... it's good. a lot more... crowded than i thought it would be, though. and a lot more peaceful."
