Why resolutions don't work
2015 Resolutions (Update: Q2)
I’m a little behind on this update, but that’s ok. If you’d like to go back to my original post or Q1 update, feel free to do so.
1) I’ve been slacking on this one. I think once things finally start to settle down I can give vlogging more attention. If anyone is interested in watching them I’ll gladly post the YouTube links.
2) I’m finally settled down in my apartment. I’ve been here for just about two months and I don’t regret this decision one bit. I’m closer to work, much happier, and it really lets me be independent. If you are looking to move out, please don’t make the stupid mistake I did by doing so without starting work... I’m fortunate that everything worked out, but I won’t do that again. I’m going to mark this one COMPLETE.
3) I haven’t felt the needs to continue this currently, but I may start going once I get all of my doctors figured out with my new insurance.
4) I haven’t really considered yet since I need to buy a car, but maybe in the second half of the year?
5) HA HAHA HAHA! It didn’t happen, but all is well. There are better things to worry about at this point in my life.
6) I haven’t done this yet either.. I’m slowly but surely breaking financial ties with them, but I’m off to a good start.
7) Eh, Not much has changed here, but I’m not terribly worried about it since I’m not living with them anymore. Things are still afloat and nothing major has happened, so I’ll take it!
8) I NEED to get back to get back exercising. Food wise I’ve been doing a lot better and I even do meal prep for lunches. Yay veggies!
9) I started this during my vacation two weeks ago and it felt great to read for fun. I recently bought myself an Amazon Kindle for my birthday and I’m exciting to start using it. Here’s to reading for fun!
10) I’m really missing my SHUfam now. Things don’t seem too different when compared to last summer, but It’s going to be strange not leaving for school in August. We all need to catch up soon.
Slowly but surely, I’m making progress!
Gotta post some more serious shite
New Year's Resolutions
January is almost gone. Do you still remember your new year's resolutions? Keep going! (:
2014 Goals
So far, the New Year has been a weird place for me to be. It's my first year out of school. I'll be 23. I'm still single... Not that it's a bad thign since it's mostly my fault... but still, 2014 has been weird so far.
Tonight I made a list of goals. Since I've read articles about being in your twenties and how relationships aren't everything and as a fellow twenty something I should just dive into life. So I made goals.
1. Go to the gym, see a nutritionist, go to a yoga class, and train to run a 5K.
2. Look into going back to school to study Public Relations
3. Look for a new job with better pay.
4. Travel somewhere at least once on my own.
5. Go on a 2nd, 3rd and 4th date with someone. Even if it doesn't work out. Stand up to the fear.
6. Continue to be social and meet new people.
7. Save money.
Courticus' Fashion(ish) Resolutions
I've spent most of this week considering what makes me happy and what I really want. I just moved into a great space, but I'm not unpacking at a great rate because I've been thinking so hard about what I want the spaces to be and how I want them to look and function. In the same sense, I've been considering what sorts of goals, intentions and resolutions I want to set for the new year for myself. I was eager to take up Rae's challenge to set some fashion resolutions, but I wanted to ponder it with equal importance. So here goes (sorry if this gets long): 1) Dress for the body I have. As I've been building my roller derby body and training for a (very quickly approaching) Tough Mudder challenge, my body has changed and is continuing to change. I think I'm dressing for what I think my body looks like and somehow simultaneously what I think it SHOULD look like. Neither are working super well, so it's a good time to change that. 2) Explore color. I tend to stick to earthy neutrals and dark tones probably 6/7 days of the week. I'd like to incorporate more color into my wardrobe and maybe even into my hair. 3) Maintain my hairstyle, whatever it may be. For whatever reasons, my hair has a huge impact on how I feel about myself. The more variety and the more stylish I can feel about it, the more put together and less sloppy I feel. That good or bad energy seeps into the rest of my life too and so it's important to me that I find a way to maintain it and dress it up and keep my do looking sorta cute. This might actually involve me learning to cut my own hair, but we'll see. 4) Keep my purse clean and organized. Don't laugh! At any given time this year I might've had an assortment of foods, crafting supplies, jewelry and change among the assorted meds, cards, and other things in my purse and it's out of control. At one point this year I was late paying a bill because I lost it in my purse! If I need to take craft supplies with me, they can be put in an appropriate bag to stay organized within my purse. I'll take my change out and put it into the change jar or take it to coinstar. 5) Try to see myself through other people's eyes (because this view kinda sucks). 6) (six?!?! jeez oh pete, it's gonna be a busy year) Give more compliments and learn to accept them without changing the topic. Some other things I'd like to do this year include getting another tattoo that includes the flower below, learn to sew clothing better, and wear more shoes that i own.
