one year ago today: (it feels amazing to look back at this and think: CHECK, CHECK, aaannnd CHECK.)

I resolved only three things, and then made a long list of things to do wishes to fulfill, places to be traveled, things to learn.

for now, it is this:

Jesus Christ, shine into our night. Drive our dark away till your glory fills our eyes.

Psalm 27:14 “Be strong and let your heart take courage.” That’s what “manliness” is. When the bible says act like a man it means, be courageous to take your stand in obedience to the law of God. A man does not give in under fear, pressure, intimidation, temptation, does not seek the easy way, does not seek the secure place, he does not look for the escape hatch. A man faces the battle, faces the fury, the enemy, the accusations, the onslaught, living on principle with convictions based on the propositional truths of holy scripture. He has the courage to believe those convictions, own those convictions, to stand strong on those convictions, facing every challenge and being unmoved. That’s what Christian manhood is. Manly fortitude, contending for the truth of the word of God, in the midst of difficulty and challenge. Meeting every enemy, bearing every point of persecution, maintaining self discipline, upholding truth, pressing towards the goal of faithfulness. This is what distinguishes a man.
