Hej! I've been studying Danish by myself for a while (it's been almost years actually), but since danish is not popular in my country, there isn't much sources or classes i can benefit or go, so i can't improve my danish. I can only use simple sentences& certain daily words :(( i was hoping maybe you could recommend me several sources i can use, y'know grammar books etc. (Btw I LOVE your blog! honestly, it helps a lot💕)
Hejsa! I’m glad you like the blog and good job for sticking around to learn Danish for so long! I agree that there is a lack of Danish language learning resources (especially for those who self-study). I can provide you with some resources that I know of but I can’t tell whether they are actually good or not since, as a native, I haven’t been using any of these resources actively. Here’s what I could find:
danishclass101 (website and youtube channel)
Danish Tutor: Grammar and Vocabulary Workbook (book)
Complete Danish Beginner to Intermediate Course (book)
Shortcut to Danish (book)
HelloTalk (app through which you can talk to natives of the language you learn and exchange knowledge)
In any case, I have several lessons planned for this blog which is hopefully going to help you construct your own (and more advanced) sentences! I will be posting a new lesson every week.
On a side note, what also helps me self-studying languages is communities that is centered around learning a specific language (e.g. Japanese). Hopefully, one day, as this blog grows, a community centered around learning Danish will be formed. That way, students can help and motivate each other!
