🔱 TRIDENT EMBLEM — can your oc swim? do they enjoy swimming?

In modern au they can! And they really like it, even did it competitively when they were in school. They also taught Orion how to swim in this version.

Canon Orlando was born just before the bombs fell and grew up with very irradiated water. They do know how to swim, their family taught them just in case, but it's not something they actively do. If the pool at the Whitespring got cleaned and fixed up, they would frequent it often.

🔺 RED TRIANGLE POINTED UP — does your oc know how to use any weapons?

Not really. They could figure out how to use one in a bind, not properly mind you, but enough to depfend themselves. They aren't a fan of guns and are much more of a talker than a fighter.

🍃 LEAVES FLUTTERING IN WIND — what is/was your oc's favorite subject in school?

Canon no formal education on account of the apocalypse. But I do HC their mom as a teacher lol so they did get to learn stuff! And both canon and modern really enjoyed English and literature.

And modern au quite enjoyed drama. Orlando would be a theatre kid and that is the hill I am firmly standing on lol

There isn't one good way to answer this one because, yes, they are very open minded, they will get stuck on something and can be rather stubborn. Moreso a kinda "I know I'm right" and similar situations. They are extremely inquisitive and love to keep learning about things and people.

What do they think of each other's family? And how does the family feel?

In Orion's canon, Orlando's family were either all killed by the scorched or turned into them. So she's never met them, but Orlando tells her they were wonderful so she misses them all the same.

Orion hopes with everything she's got that Orlando NEVER meets her parents. They're the only (blood) family she's got and part of her hopes they're dead.

What good do they bring out in each other?

Orion is good for teaching Orlando to appreciate what they have. They have a slight tendency to abuse their position with management and get supplies and goods that are a bit frivolous and only for themself. They've cut back on the special orders since they started dating her.

Orlando taught Orion to be herself and to love that person. Orion grew up with a very narrow world view. She only knew whatever vault-tec and her parents told her, and that admittingly wasn't much. She wasn't allowed the time or space to figure herself out. She was told who she was by her folks and ran with that.

What interests do they share? For interests they don't share, do they ever participate anyway?

Reading! Orlando's a stronger reader than Orion, but they both enjoy it and will spend evenings or afternoons in bed reading whatever novel they can get.

Orlando does not participate in Orion's runs and workouts, but they do make sure she cleans up and has enough proper food and water.

Orion will try just about anything once, and that applies to Orlando's hobbies and interests. Some she liked, some she didn't, and she's leaned that that's okay.

Know: How well does your OC know themself—their wants, their goals, their motivations? Do they engage in any sort of self-reflection? Is there anything about themself they willfully ignore?

Poor Orion has had several identity crises. At least 4. She spent a long time trying to be who her parents wanted, that when she finally got to be whoever she could, she wasn't really sure.

She knows she likes to help people. The Responders resonated with her in a big way. She likes to be outside, just not at night. She likes to run and she likes mechanics. She doesn't mind getting dirty and she doesn't like to swim. She likes amry green, no matter how hard she tried not to. She likes her hair short and her clothing loose.

She knows she can be a bit much sometimes, talkative and excitable. She puts that out of her mind most of the time and tries not to let it get to her.

Mentor: Does your OC have a mentor? Have they ever reached out to anyone for guidance or teaching, or been taken under someone's wing? How does your OC get along with their mentor?

Skippy fills that role pretty well for her. He taught her about Power Armour and how to build and maintain it, as well as tinkering with a variety of other things. He got her channelling her energy into more constructive means and less fearful of the world and others. He means a lot to her. Meeting him was good for her.

Social Circle: What's your OC's social circle? Are they obligated to spend time with others in their circle, or are they happy to be there? Has their social standing and social circle ever changed, and if so, how did your OC feel about it?

She's friends with Rowan (@the-laridian ), Will (@the-lastcall ), Atticus (my friend IRL), along with Jen from Foundation and Joe Creigh from Camp Mcclintock. Obviously Orlando as well lol

She loves her friends and is very happy to have them. She didn't get a lot of connections with others in the vault outside of concerned staff.

🍁 [MAPLE LEAF] What is your OC's favourite season? Why and what do they do during it?

Orion loves the fall! Not hot, not cold, lots of very pretty colours, what's not to love? Orion goes on morning runs regardless of season, but this is definitely her favourite one for it. Carving pumpkins is something she's discovered and come to love, and it's also perfect picnic weather (assuming she can convince Orlando to go outside).

Jasper, despite running naturally hot, always loved the summer. Planting season is over, just gotta weed, water, and wait for harvest. Plenty of time to nap in the shade, swimming in the river, no school.

🌻 [SUNFLOWER] Where would your OC get lost in the moment/beauty of the place?

Orion will forever have the first sunrise she saw outside cowspots creamery burned into her memory. Up until that day, she had spent an overwhelming amount of time frightened or sick or both. Most mornings were spent inside. Appalachia's forest region is her favourite place to be, fresh air and trees and the best sunrises.

Jasper's favourite place in all of Halcyon is Roseway. Going there after Edgewater had a profound impact on her, right off the landing pad, it was immediately less miserable (mad scientists not withstanding). It's wad literally and metaphorically a breath of fresh air.

🌱 [SEEDLING] What new passions/hates is your OC discovering?

Thanks to Sims 4, Orion now enjoys gardening. In the same vain as mechanics and construction, she finds it relaxing, and any excuse to spend time outside is a good one! It's fun to go and play around in the dirt lol

Probably going to have to say no for this one, only because who's allowed to touch her is limited. If she's the one initiating, then it's all good! She knows it's coming, and it's on her own terms.

Orion gets excited and forgets her own strength, she's giving you a tight bear hug, and she may lift you off the ground a bit.

Orion will dance with Orlando alone in their room. She's definitely rather still and not the greatest at it. She's stepped on their toes on more than one occasion.

Sometimes, she'll sort of half dance along to the radio even if others are around. She'll dance to music around Atticus because neither of them care and it's fun.

ಸヮಸ: Do they lean back or forward when they laugh hard? Do they snort? Slap their knee? Do that seal-esque clap? Do they often laugh to the point that you can’t hear their laugh anymore?

She leans forward, doubling over herself, arms wrapped around her midsection, eyes bright with pure joy. Her laugh is bright, loud, and very contagious.

(ó﹏ò｡): Are there any foods that make their stomach upset?

I think at this point, if she tried to eat meat, it would not sit well with her.

Her system does not love carbonated drinks (but she loves them), tomatoes, and her spice tolerance is not the greatest.

🍓 [STRAWBERRY] How do they feel about 'cute' things?

They like them a normal amount lol wasn't something that was thought about much before Orion came along. Now their room in the Whitespring has an assortment of teddy bears and figurines and other cute lil trinkets that their girlfriend has placed about. It's debatable if they've grown fond of the bears or just Orion's enjoyment of them.

🥭 [MANGO] What colours best represent them and why? Does this differ from their favourites?

Orlando truly does enjoy whites, greys, and blacks. Yes, those aren't technically colours. No, they don't care. Purple, though, is a colour that is both enjoyed by them and fits them nicely.

Purple has been associated with the wealthy because it was often only them that could afford the dye or anything made with it. That alone suits them well, working with "management" has left them in rather good standings, and they will be the first to admit they like the finer things in life. It's a fun colour, rich and vibrant in many shades that are still all recognizable as purple.

🍍 [PINEAPPLE] Pineapple on pizza or not?

Pineapple, I think, is not something horribly available in the West Virginia wasteland lol but it is available in modern times, so we'll look at it that way.

And the answer is 'No'. They are not on board with pineapple pizza, think it's too sweet and juicy to mix well. Orion loves it (minus the bacon or ham that typically accompanies it), so it's something that is actually in their home much more often than they would like.

🥝 [KIWI FRUIT] How does their outside appearance differ from who they are?

This is a hard one. I do believe that they line up very well with how they look and how they are. I will say that while they can talk smoothly and are good around people, they aren't always the best people person. They look all sauve and charming and business-like, but they can have trouble differentiating what's good on paper and what helps people in real life.

🍄 [MUSHROOM] How likely is your OC to eat random berries/mushrooms they find?

Mushrooms? Not a chance. Way too many possibilities to mess you up. Berries, though, those she will eat. Equally high change of being dangerously potent, she just doesn't register it.

🌵 [CACTUS] How physically resilient is your OC?

I'm currently writing part 4 of Orion's journal. Thus far, she's been out of the vault for just shy of a month, and she's been sick in some form almost the entire time.

She has almost no immune system, is very pale and sunburns easily, gets hay fever in the spring, and is queasy around blood (including her own). The immune system gets better with time. The rest remain issues.

🌱 [SEEDLING] What new passions/hates is your OC discovering?

Dancing was never something she was even remotely interested in. It's fun with Orlando though. Sometimes, she even initiates it herself now! Cooking is another one she's been learning. She can only make scrambled eggs in terms of proper cooking (no Orion, cutting up veggie sticks for your lunch doesn't quite count), but she's learning, and it's kinda fun.

Cooking is equally as frustrating as it is rewarding, Esme's stew isn't the only thing she's burnt.

🌺 [HIBISCUS] What does your OC think is the prettiest name?

She really likes Atticus' former wife's name, Stella. Kinda matches with hers. The sound of it is very pretty, and it really rolls off the tongue nice when saying it. Looks pretty when written out as well.

🐄 The Blue Ridge Caravan Company?

Next best thing since the Responders! She's only met them all recently, but she loves them. Her and Libby have a lot in common, and Kieran's been very kind to her (do you want another kid? I'm available!). She's back and forth with Vinney. Sometimes, he comes off as a real jerk, others, he's worried, genuinely, about the caravan workers. Vera is another favourite of hers, she'd like to help her see all the sights.

🎪 Nuka World on Tour?

She may hate the Ask Heap, but she sure loves Nuka World! I do not think this comes as a surprise to anyone lol she adores the carnival and has so much merchandise to prove it. She especially loves playing all the games in the Nuka-cade and has gotten quite good at them if she does say so herself!

🏆 Do they have a favourite event? Least favourite?

I mean, of were being technical and honest here, she would most likely be scared shitless of almost all of them. That's a lot of enemies coming at you at once. There is one though, and I can't for the life of me remember the name at the moment, but it's the one where you heard the brahmin back to their home. Sheepsquatch notwithstanding, it's just a nice one where you help out the cows, very much more her speed.

Radiation rumble would definitely be her least favourite. Enemies AND high rad levels? No thank you.
