From humble beginnings, let me introduce you to the "Teacup Collection". This gorgeous 145ct+ parcel of mixed gems was originally mined by one of the families of Amie, a member of the Ladies Lapidary Collective we work with in Madagascar (from the same area we have helped set up more sustainable mining techniques and taught basic field gemmology). She came to me with a little teacup of stones and on inspecting the stones I could see it was the kind of material most people wouldn't even give a second glance or at best, pick out one or two stones and leave the rest. I decided I wanted to show people that you can find beauty in places that you might not always expect. So I purchased the parcel, had them cut in a responsible cutting factory and here we have the result. A fully traceable and responsibly sourced collection of gems proving that we shouldn't always pass over something because we can't see an immediate profit. We are selling this parcel and 100% of the profit made will go towards our new social enterprise developed to help women from developing nations enter the gem trade, this is project is called Responsible Gemstone Traders. This parcel will make an amazing collection of jewellery with a beautiful story.
