FOR REAL! Sometimes the antagonist just makes you feel more, or consider more because of the complexity of their positions - slightly amorale, amorale, neutral, etc Sometimes you walk out of a film thinking the story would have lacked w/out the antagonist, or finish a book & feel the same way.
There’s nothing inherently “NOPE” about them.
