A girl fainted in my Pilates class, and my instructor was like ‘everyone watch Sophie do the routine, while I manage first aid’, which is a new fear unlocked in me apparently, lmao.

I have Resting Nice Face, which, if you don’t know, is the opposite of RBF. As a result of this, I somewhat frequently get approached by strangers asking for help. In the past this has included being asked for directions (which I’m not good at, but I try to help), helping drunk girls find their friends or get to a safe place, getting things off of tall shelves at the grocery store for little old ladies, and most often, being asked “Would you mind taking our picture?”
Tonight, while I was at dinner with my mom, my RNF struck again. A gentlman came to our table and asked if he could sit by me because he needed some help. This caught me off guard, but I scooted over and asked him what he needed. He told us he was 75 years old, and that he’d just gotten an iPhone and learned to text. He’d taken a picture of the river at sunset, and he wanted to send the picture to his sister, but he didn’t know how. I showed him how to send the picture in a text message. He was very thankful, and said he needed help with one more thing. He wanted to send his other sister a text with the same picture!
He was very grateful and amazed, and both of his sisters texted him back and were so impressed that he’d sent the picture!
RNF can be a blessing and a curse, but today it was definitely worth it.
I have something called Resting Nice Face. You know Resting Bitch Face? This is the exact opposite. I look nice but I’m actually the literal worst.
Having a resting nice, smile face can be hard.
Especially when your angry and everyone thinks it's funny or a joke cause you're smiling.
Like I may be smiling but the rest if me is clenched in fury.
Anyone else suffer from:
Resting nice face???
I know it’s a kinda common thing like resting bitch face but??? Is it normal to have people tell you about their diseases and family drama the 2nd time you’ve spoken to them ever?????
Like, I’m not that bothered by it I’m just concerned that people are so eager to just dump that kind of info on a stranger or aquaintence at best! 😧
sometimes i wonder how much more i’d get done in life and how much more on time i could be if i didn’t have one of those faces with “ask me for directions” written all over it.
yeet i'm burned out
Me a naturally smiley person. Sitting and eating my McDonald's.
Lady: Why you smiling?!
Me shrugs.
What kind of world do we live in that we need to have a specific reason for smiling?
The struggles of resting nice face.
