Retail Network Workshop in Luxembourg, 6-7 May 2015
The PostEurop Retail Network Forum provides a comprehensive platform for presenting and discussing postal retail issues in Europe. The last annual meeting of the Retail Network Forum took place in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, the 7 May 2015. The one day meeting was attended by representatives from 10 European postal operators (Luxembourg, France, Belgium, Germany, Iceland, PostNord representing both Sweden and Denmark, Bosnia and Herzegovina – Croatian Post Mostar, Croatia and Romania).
In the afternoon of the 6th of May, Post Luxembourg welcomed the participants with a guided tour through the old city of Luxembourg followed by a network dinner. The following day, the workshop was opened by Mr Bruno Sattler, Chair of the PostEurop Postal Retail Network Working Group, who gave the initial key note intervention to Post Luxembourg, the host postal operator, in which presented their developments in retail outlets during the last years and how they keep their retail outlets successfully integrating both Postal and Telecom business divisions.
All the other operators had also the opportunity to present their views and latest achievements in their countries. The discussions were focused on how the new products related to e-commerce and e-shopping can boost the activity in postal outlets. Staff motivation and new type of incentives, customer surveys and own audits to obtain feed-back about the core criteria relevant for retail outlets were also object of an extensive debate. During the afternoon workshop, site visits, first to a large retail outlet in a shopping centre and after to small one in the business district. In the latest one, PostEurop took the opportunity to interact with customers and get their feedback! The day’s activities continued with and presentation by António Manuel Amaral with an overview of PostEurop Market Activities Circle and its liaison with everyday activities of Postal Outlets, especially regarding Philatelic issues. After the announcement that the next meeting will take place in Reykjavík, hosted by Iceland Post, in 2016 Mr Sattler closed this successful meeting.
