Vamshi Rubber's board approves the sale of its entire undertaking
Vamshi Rubber's board, meeting on 8 July, has approved a proposal for the substantial sale of the company's entire undertaking, citing continued decline in its retreading business. The reasoning is structural, not cyclical: the board points to technological shifts in the tyre industry that are shrinking the pool of retreadable tyre casings, no further growth opportunity in retreading, and the non-viability of redeploying the existing manufacturing unit for any other line of business.
The decision goes to shareholders as a special resolution through postal ballot under Section 110 of the Companies Act and Regulation 44 of the SEBI Listing Regulations. The board has approved appointing independent professional agencies, including a Registered Valuer, to assess the business objectively, determine fair value, and evaluate strategic alternatives, alongside an advisor to identify suitable counterparties.
The wider signal for the rubber trade is the explicit board-level acknowledgment that radialisation and cheaper new tyres have hollowed out the retreading economics that sustained a listed operator, a conclusion with read-through for the remaining retread supply chain.

APRIL 29, 2018 Recently, a Facebook friend suggested, in a discussion of strange Polytheist ideas, the possibility that we might be re-treading, or being impacted by, Puritan theology. It made sense. Religion is an appendage of culture, and United States culture has been deeply influenced by Puritans who came to this continent and colonized it.
I decided to read some Puritan writings to see if it was true. Were some of the popular ideas in the Polytheist community related to Puritan thinking? Indeed, yes.
