😭💕💕💕💕💕 I want to draw more of them, I want to draw em doing the most casual things, growing together as person, having fun duels and being happy.
btw this is the pic I used as reference for the second drawing:

I think I'm starting to notice a pattern with some of my favorite ships & couples haha...
Being familiar with the Reflectionless Useless Eyes trope, I assumed the current state of Carly’s eyes meant that she was blind at that moment. (I am also aware it could have been a callback to her lifeless eyes when she died from her fall after her duel against Divine.)
What made that thought oh so painfully sad was that putting her glasses back on her wouldn’t have helped her see again. That would mean her smile was more due to the comfortably familiar weight of her glasses, an important piece of her identity as Carly Nagisa/Carmine, than an improved eyesight.
Even in her final moments, she couldn’t see the face of her beloved. 😭😭😭
Do you ship it?
Carly Carmine/Jack Atlas (Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's)
I ship it!
Neutral
I don't ship it
I don't know the characters
reason: Starts out with a cold former champion finding himself dragged along by a journalist hoping to get the next hot scoop. He breaks down her biases, and she helps him regain his confidence. Ultimately, he walks away to prove he doesn’t need her, but when disaster takes her and brainwashes her, he puts his life on the line to save her, with their bond ultimately being what frees her from the clutches of that ancient evil. Then because plot, everyone forgot about it and everyone in the fanbase cried.
Can I just say that as a die-hard Jack x Carly shipper---who watched the show as it aired in 2009 and would wake up at ass o'clock like 5 am every Wednesday before going to my 8am university classes because that's when the RAW episodes were uploaded on the Janime forum shortly after airing in Japan---that it makes me so happy to see new shippers out there and contemporaries who still ship them 16 years on. The art, the analysis, the fics. Y'all are great. I love it. Thank you.
Jack Atlas-core
Funny story: First time I watched 5Ds I didn’t fully process the fact that Jack had a broken arm in this scene:
I thought he was just doing this for no reason.
