Rant on Racism (2/29/12)
The Mexicans are taking over the country, they're everywhere. Those Europeans' dogs never shut up. What a ridiculous idea, Indians not eating beef because cows, of all creatures, are 'sacred'. African people do sing well, but they all sound exactly alike. That family is overweight...the new term is called obese, but it means the same thing: they shouldn't be eating pizza here. More and more of the stores here are run by Asians; they charge so much for cheap service and I bet they're talking about us, besides.

So what if we're all going to have to speak Spanish to be able to communicate in 10 years? Most other parts of the world, people study and are actually FLUENT in languages other than their own. So what if there are some Europeans whose loud dogs never shut up? It's not like there aren't any American dogs that are the same way. Indian people generally don't eat beef? Well, when have I ever seen you try a frog, dog, or snail? African people sing well but sound the same, so they don't count? Um, hey, isn't that the same with country singers? That family is rather obese, they shouldn't be here eating pizza; some of your own friends aren't exactly fit themselves. If you, by some painful stretch of your imagination, had a service job, wouldn't you feel indignant toward clients with uppity airs and assumptions?
Maybe there's a legitimate reason that these groups of people don't talk to you. No, no, of course not, they're just ignorant of American ways, silly, and stubborn. They don't understand the way things in this country work.

I happen to be a proud friend of people who are proud to be Mexican, European, Indian, African, and other ethnicities and nationalities besides. Also, I do believe you've forgotten you're in the company of someone who happens to be blatantly white AND Asian. It's been 40+ years since the Civil Rights Movement, plenty of time for even you to know about it. Stop bugging at other people. For criminy's sake, there is no one set default mode for "American" or what is "allowed". GET WITH THE PROGRAM!!!
