Well, I had plans for Mom and I to just have a leisurely day today. Dad would have a day off to go golfing and Todd would be teaching his lessons. It would just be the three girls - Mom, me, and Sami. Nope. Mom's feeding tube is blocked so we're down at the U in the ER trying to either get it unblocked (optimal situation) OR have a new one put in (not optimal.) Upside, we had a nice drive together under a nice blue sky and Mom got to see the beautiful green mountains. I'll give more updates later. Update - Mom is still having a problem with nausea. Yesterday they gave her the smaller NG tube (small bore nasogastric tube) for meds and nutrition. Her lungs are weak, which happens after surgery and she's had two. So she is getting breathing treatments and doing the breathing exercises to work her lungs clear of all the gunk. Her white blood count is elevated too. Antibiotics will be started as well. Now, that she can finally get her daily meds and some nutrition, it feels like there is a light at the end of this very rough tunnel. I haven't been able to see her for four days. I was in the ER myself for a kidney infection and a very high fever over the weekend and there was NO WAY I was going to be near her, to put her at risk while I still had a fever. Yesterday I saw my Primary Care Practitioner and asked him to give me a COVID test. To ease all our minds. I'm all good. All clear. I'll be able to see her tomorrow. Dad is with her today. Charming the nurses and butt dialing me. Thank you, to everyone. For the love. For the support. For the understanding. Annnnd, The Moms made scrunchies. I found this super easy tutorial on the YouTubes and she whipped them out in one afternoon. My favorites are the gingham and the Christmas one with Cardinals (my favorite bird because it was my Grandma Hollister's favorite and feels.) The YouTube channel is Rosery Apparel and it was one in her 10 Minute Crafts series. Took The Moms to get her second shot! Soooooo grateful. Even if we got stuck with the worst wheelchair in the history of wheelchairs. A man helped us figure out if the brakes were still on (they weren't) and a kind young lady held the door for us. After, at "Jake's Over the Top" the car in front of us paid for half of our lunch. Then we went to Beus Pond and ate our lunch while we people watched. Here's something I suggest all of you get for yourselves: A person that no matter how grumpy you are, how shitty the situation you might be in, how rotten you feel, just being with that person is a good time.
